These are small, lightweight, good power (some of you guys are looking for the 36v monster recip saw...) and take a T shank jigsaw blade which is awesome. They actually cut better with the jigsaw blade honestly.BUT:I have 4 of these laying around and 3 of them are fine. One bounces around a lot more than the others which makes it cut slower because the blade can't eat.The other thing is, the front side of the blade shoe is really too small. When you rest the material on that little piece of metal and start cutting, the material king of rolls off the front of the shoe and the blade can't bite.Once you're used to this it's fine.

It's lightweight, small, well balanced, and very low vibration. I found that it's easier to change blades with shoes removed. Difficult to insert your gloved fingers and twist that head. I used it to cut small branches with "pruning" blade.

I love all my Metabo tools, from the impact driver to the full sized reciprocating saw to the hammer drill. I was expecting the same performance from this one-handed saw, and it is just pitiful. I believed it to be a defect before looking up other reviews online. Will barely cut through a sheet of plywood, and as others have noted the Milwaukee one handed saw is far superior. I'm sorely disappointed as on paper it claims to be better and all my other tools are better as well.

I got this because I have other Hitachi/Metabo tools and I didn't want to get into more chargers/batteries. It's not bad, but it's not very powerful. I used it to install a bathroom exhaust fan and remove the old one. It cuts through drywall without any issue at all, no surprise here. I had to cut through a few galvanized nails to get the old fan out, it got through after a bit, not awful, but not impressive. I also had to cut through a 2x4 which it certainly struggled with. It is very easy to handle, the light works well and overall it's pretty easy to get along with. I mainly use a recip saw for my own home electrical work. It usually involves cutting out an old steel-banded electrical box and trimming some drywall. It is perfect for such light-duty use.If I did not have the other metabo tools already, I'd probably send this back. I've used a milwaukee saw of the same type and it goes through stuff much faster and easier. If you don't already have any green tools, I wouldn't recommend this. If you do, it's not horribly expensive, it is competent and while it won't wow you, it will (eventually) get the job done. I don't regret buying it, but I don't understand why it wasn't made with a little more muscle. The only major gripe is that the standard capacity batteries are a little small. There is a plastic battery guard that extends past the bottom of the battery itself. This means that unless you have a high-capacity battery, you can not stand the saw upright. I don't care that much and I don't feel the need to buy another battery. It's cheaper to just lay it down.

The stroke at 1" is a bit short, but, it's a short saw. It's not very aggressive but it's ok for pruning tree branches and would use a 6-inch, 5 or 6-TPI (teeth per inch) blade with this saw. If using the bigger brother, use a 9" or 12" 3-TPI blade. This is not Metabo's best tool in the lineup but has its limited uses.If you're a contractor (or homeowner), the Hitachi > Metabo HPT line is unbeatable for the price and quality of tools, especially with the lifetime warranty. Most Ship & Sold by Amazon. I've only ever had one problem (with an impact wrench) and that was quickly rectified by Amazon. And, I have nearly every 18v tool they make dating back at least 15 years. And, the original batteries still work too. The Metabo batteries get overlooked, they don't use cheap cells in their packs (I think LG cells if I remember correctly) and will admit I was a bit worried when Metabo bought the Hitachi line, but, they have not disappointed.

I got this for my boyfriend. I got this for my boyfriend for Christmas and it only lasted one use before the motor burnt out. This product is only useful on small twigs. It’s pretty useless.

Aucune force, probablement défectueuse, rien de comparable avec le même outil dewalt! Jamais j’aurais crus être aussi déçu de metabo et c’est triste de voir la piètre qualité de ce produit qui vient avec garantie à vie!!
