I researched a lot of arc barrels before deciding on this. This is sturdy, very well made, has the right amount of cushioning to provide proprioceptive feedback to the body. If you are an office worker or software engineer at a desk job all day, you need to help restore and maintain the balance of your spine. The arc curve is gentle and suitable for beginners and bodies of all shapes and sizes. This is the only company that makes extra wide barrels that is perfect for men with large frames. All most all the other Pilates Small Barrel manufacturers have a width no larger than 17-18" max which feels narrow for me. This one is a good 24" wide.
