Hubby and I are new to rowing machines. We wanted something with a different range of movements than the treadmill, bike, and elliptical. I wasn’t sure if I would like it or not BUT it’s great. We are glad we bought it. It’s a good, basic machine, no problems, easy to use, and it’s a fun addition to our little home gym. Would recommend.

Fairly easy to assemble. Sturdy when set up. Having an app for your phone is nice. Compact size takes up less room and is easy to move and store. Very quiet operation. The handle is a little short, could be wider to isolate the back muscles more. My biggest dislike is there isn't much resistance, I need to set it to max resistance to really feel much of a work out and I am not in great shape at 5ft 9 and 220lbs. Hence my wanting the machine. It will do for muscle toning, longer sets with more reps per set but if you want to build muscle this isn't the right device.

I have been wanting to purchase my own rowing machine for some time now, but have been trying to make sure I get the right one. After a fair amount of research I decided price versus features this is the right one for me. The only issue in the reviews that concerned me is there was some talk about resistance level, and not right for a professional… after setting this up and using it for a few weeks, I don’t know what they are talking about? I have not encountered a rowing machine at a gym that has noticeably more resistance than this machine, so I would suggest that the individuals making those comments have an issue with their resistance operation. What I like… very well made, super smooth, great resistance, great value for price, smart looking, super quiet and smooth operation, and easy to assemble. I don't really have anything negative to say, but have not tried their connected app yet, but based on what I am seeing from this company, I am going to assume it is just fine. The only thing I can think of that might trip people up is they often depict it with a large screen, and it obviously does not come with this (fairly obvious), but could fool someone if not fully reading the spec.I would buy it again, and recommend it to friendsAfter using it for a while longer now, I have one really small negative… the calorie counter does not take into account the resistance level, so you get the same count on level one as level 16, so if I had one suggestion for the company, I would want them to fix this… otherwise, I am super happy with it… I’m still too fat, so if they could fix that too, then best company ever! After a few months, I have had a chance to use it a little more, and have tried there connected App. I still think this is an excellent product, and would still recommend it to anyone. It is holding up very well, and as another reviewer stated, it is incredibly quiet, I do think by breathing is louder than the machine! The App is good, not too much to look at, but I would love to see them add a YouTube window to it... Like split screen. You don't need a whole screen to show you a couple of metrics from your workout. I like to watch rowing videos as I row, just to give me something to look at, and I try to match the rowers stride on screen. I can still do this as I can load YouTube onto my iPad, and connect my phone to the rowing machine, but it would be nice to look at both at once. This is super nit-picky, and is only a suggestion for the company if they are going to add to their app in the future.

The Merach rowing is really easy to assemble, looks great, doesn't take up much space and it is so quiet. The only major downside is the handle itself. It has a design/ grooves in it (see picture) and it's really uncomfortable for the hands!! I've used rowing machines before, and it's the first time that I had to stop after 10 minutes because my hands were on fire because of the handle. I put on padded gloves and it was fine after that. I have to purchase a rowing machine handle cover now to enjoy the machine. A simple rubber handle would have been perfect. Still a great machine though.UPDATE: Merach customer service reached out to me to solve the issue i had. This company really stands behind their products and customer service is really great. 5 STARS!!!!! Merach

I just can't think of anything negative to say about this rowing machine. Given its price, it's very nice. I love the unique design of the water tank, and its ability to stand up on end taking a very little space. I'll update, but as of this point again I can't think of a bad thing to say about it.

I've been using this M17 Water Rower for three weeks now and really like it. I'm very glad I went with this rower over the many others I was considering. Every part feels high quality, and it didn't take more than 30 mins to finish the assembly. The seat slide is smooth, and the whoosh sound of the water is so lovely - not too loud. I have it filled up to the third resistance level and I always get a good workout after 10-20min classes.Reasons to pick this rower over many of the other budget options:-Fixed foot plates. Many of the cheap rowers seem to have footplates that can swivel nearly 360 degrees. These ones are stationary and are akin to the ones on the Concept 2 or other more expensive rowers. They have adjustments for footsizes and the foot holders allow you to pivot your heels slightly up as you come forward.-The metrics screen isn't covered when you use the device holder. I saw many designs that had a device holder for your own phone or tablet but doing so would cover the machine's metrics readout. That seems silly. If I'm taking a class via my ipad, I still want to be able to see my stroke rate. The metrics screen works pretty well and the stroke count and stroke rate always seem accurate. I can't comment on bluetooth functionality, I dont use that.-For me as a 5' 7" person, I can get a pretty full stroke where my arms can come all the way forward at the catch. There are alot of budget magnetic machines which seem to have the handle catch even farther forward than this one, which means you're only getting a partial stroke. If you're taller than me, your arms may need to extend further forward than this machine allows to really be getting a full stroke.

I did a bit of research of the rowers to alternate running so I started to investigate different options. Also, I didn't have any experience with rowing before. This is the option I decided to purchase considering the following:- the price was really tasty- the design looks slick. I usually don't pay attention to design but you gotta admit it looks slick- a famous rowing youtuber recommended it to people who are 6'8''. I can recommend it for people who are 6'0'' for sure and definitely don't have any issues with it.- resistance level is acceptable. I occasionally use canoes and level 13 felt like the closest to real canoeing. It gives you 3 extra harder options. With level 13, I could use this for ~10 mins max. Just for reference, I can do 15 pull ups and can run for ~15 km. I wish real water resistance was more like level 5 so I can also use this more on a power training but it's not bad at all. Maybe other reviewers are hardcore gym bros or maybe they got defective units - not sure why there're so many complaints resistance level.- this machine is very very silent- it's takes not much space when it's folded. From the negatives:- No full stroke. Otherwise, this rower would've been perfect. You were warned so no need to buy this and put 1 start review. I with the seller would sell an extra 2 feet segment to convert this to a full stroke *wink-wink*. Currently, I'm looking into an DIY option to make this extension.- bar handle is a bit small if you have wider shoulders. I plan to replace it with a 2' steel pipe.- the resistance regulator came with a small crack. It's not a big deal because it still works and I'm still debating if I should reach out to support. but, would've been nice if it didn't happenOverall, if you have the right expectations about this rower, I think it would be a nice addition to your home gym. If you wanna do a proper rowing, it's either a Concept 2 or a some sort of DIY. Keep in mind I've had this rower for ~20 days.

However, I did not receive the order on the designated time, it took 5 extra days. The first time that I logged into the MERACH app it worked great it connected to the rower perfectly, but since it has not connect to the app on my phone even though my phone shows 3 bars. In the app with the display on, new batteries installed, and with the MERACH app, it does not connect to the rowing machine, it can not find it. The first time using this machine, it did connect and the app was enjoyable to watch and see my progress against others. The display I placed the batteries as stated in the manual and after finishing my workout, the next day I went in to use it and the display was very dim, so had to put in new batteries. Now I remove the batteries after each use.The rest of the rowing parts work great, and it is a great workout.

This rowing machine offers an incredible workout and is overall a fantastic addition to my home gym. The rowing motion is smooth, the build feels solid, and the machine is very quiet, making it perfect for indoor use. However, I noticed some downsides: the straps started to show signs of wear and tear much sooner than expected (less than 1 month), even with normal use. Additionally, the screen for tracking rowing stats feels quite cheap and doesn’t match the quality of the rest of the machine. If the manufacturer addresses these minor issues, this rower would be nearly perfect. For now, I’d still recommend it for its performance and value, but be prepared for some minor compromises.

The "screen" that comes with this is the basic time, distance, cals burned, it IS Bluetooth.**UPDATE**..Merach has reached out. They have excellent customer service. They apologized for the misunderstanding their product page caused. The "iPad" or whatever screen, that is insinuated on their page is not included. I have received a full refund. All the above being said...THIS IS AN EXCELLENT ROWING MACHINE! Low impact full body workout. My husband and I both love it. Solid build. No Leaks!!! The only reason for 4 stars is the confusion we had about the "screen" that comes with it.
