Sprinkler works great although after a couple weeks of use it broke, but I had plenty of extra heads to put on it. I bought it for the base.

I had one of these from a few years ago but I needed a second one to build a DIY system that would cover a wide area of grass with a two outlet automated faucet controller. Couldn't be happier with the outcome. This is a little more expensive than other brands but it is sturdy and stable and really does cover a very large area. The head is totally tunable and is made of brass so it will last a long time.

I had another brand for a few years and it worked well but finally fell apart. I decided to try a different brand and have always liked other Melnor products, so I decided to try this one. It’s very sturdy, and is heavy enough to stay put no matter what, yet is light enough to easily move around my 1 acre yard. It’s easy to adjust the height and it comes with a quick-connect for the hose that works so well. I haven’t had any problem with leaking either. I’m very happy with this purchase and I expect this to last for years:

Update: 5-29-2024... One of the sprayer heads stopped oscillating. It got stuck. Unfortunately, it was 2 days past my Amazon return date BUT... Melnor has a 2 year warranty. So I went to Melnor.com, explained my situation and, without question, they are sending me a new sprinkler. AND... the head I bought last year from the big box store is leaking, they are handling that too. GREAT PRODUCT... AMERICAN Customer Service as it should be. I am waiting for my delivery. Thank you Melnor... :DThe Melnor Watering Sprayer is a good choice because it works well. Covers well and is adjustable to short or long range. I like it. It stays where I need it to stay, even with heavy water pressure. I can hook it up in Tandem. I even changed the neck to about 8" higher with a threaded post to spray over my bushes and flower beds. Yes. It's a great sprinkler head.

The stake that you push into the ground is made of extremely thin, weak metal. I bought this 2-pack and within the first 2 days of using, when trying to press the stake into the ground, it broke off on both sprinklers. I returned them for replacements and those also broke. Further, prior to the stakes breaking off of the two replacements, the one sprinkler stopped working in the return direction. So, this means that I could no longer use it in less than a 360 degree configuration because when it hit the stop, it could not go back. The other sprinkler had the spring that's needed for it to operate pop off of it's anchor points multiple times from gentle manipulation. It's a total pain to get it back on. Bottom line: this are cheap junk and will not last. The stakes are just absolutely unbelievably weak and will break on you. I would recommend that you spend your money on something more durable (which is basically anything else).

Excellent sprinkler when utilizing a hose. The base is on the light side which is why I gave it only 4 stars for stability. However that is typical when utilizing this type of sprinkler head configuration. Just lay a brick over the metal base when you have it in the desired position and you will not have to worry about it moving around. The sprinkler head itself is top quality. The stream is accurate and there is not a lot of side spray. What I'm referring to is the fact that some sprinkler heads have a tendency splash droplets of water off to the side when rotating. The last thing you want is a sprinkler that sprays water onto areas not desired such as the side of your home or other structure when placed in close proximity to the aforementioned structure. That can lead to mildew problems and thus, more work. Stay away from sprinklers with plastic bases as the sun does a number on them. Melnor makes a great product and spending a little more is well worth it. I just ordered another one as a spare.

I will start by saying that when I received the sprinkler it was missing its head. Make a quick call to Melnor customer service and within 3 days they sent me a new head. Connected everything together and worked like a charm, I was impressed with how sturdy the unit was.

Good pricing. There are plastic pieces on this that surely won't hold up for more than a couple of seasons. There are 2 in a pack however and that's what makes it a good value.

After reading so many people b*t*ching about this and that regarding this tripod pulsating sprinkler, I decided to put it to the test and purchase one. You know what, all your complaints are unfounded, as far as I am concerned. Too bad folk that wrote the bad reviews don't go back and read what others say, as they would see this one.It works as expected and is quality construction. Legs are all aluminum so they will never rust, there are rubber feet on the bottom to keep it from skipping around on pavement and the sprinkler head is all metal construction. Unit is very light weight, also.Update 7/30/21: was watering a section of my grass today (not watching, of course) and at some point it stuck in one position. Nothing I could do to make it oscillate again, so I do not know what happened. Had been working fine up to that point. I do not detect any thing is broken. So much for quality construction. Not sure what I will do now. Probably return it for another one. Damn it! UPDATE: I DID RETURN IT AND RECEIVED ANOTHER ONE. HOOKED IT UP AND IT HAS A WEIRD STREAM OF WATER THAT SHOOTS OUT THE SIDE OF THE THING THAT CAUSES THE CHIT, CHIT, CHIT (YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN). IT IS WASTING WATER SPRAYING MY ASHPHALT. THE FIRST ONE DID NOT HAVE THIS PROBLEM. SO I AM GOING TO RETURN THIS TOO, JUST GET MY MONEY BACK, MAYBE TRY THE ORBITAL BRASS ONE.Go ahead and buy this model, you will not be disappointed. I was surprised that it stopped rotating since it appears to be made of metal, but maybe not high quality parts. The range is pretty good but the diffuser doesn't drop much water, so you wind up watering the outer edges and the center where it drips but nothing in between, and it doesn't go back on the turn. It nows spins clockwise but gets stuck and won't go back in the other direction anymore. Very disappointed. I also removed the regulator as recommended by some customers. It did extend the range, but this did not resolve the rotating issue.UPDATE: I called and a replacement is on the way. Cust service is good. More to come...
