The Mellif 5’’ Random Orbit Sander Compatible with Dewalt 20v Max Battery, Cordless Palm Sander with 20V 2.0Ah Battery & Charger Kits, Brushless, 6 Variable Speeds, 12000 OPM, Dust Bug, 10PCS Sanding Pads is a great little sander. It works great with Dewalt 20V MAX batteries and the fitment is exact. Its power usage is pretty efficient over its entire variable power range. It's a sturdy and durable sander that is light weight and easy to use. It uses all standard 5" circular sanding disks on the market. The dust collection works great to minimize the dust mess. I'm extremely satisfied with the quality, power and performance of the Mellif 5’’ Random Orbit Sander for use with Dewalt 20V Max batteries and consider it an excellent value!

Bought it for sanding hardwood floors but job was done with a corded sander by the time battery was charged! Might be good for smaller jobs???

I don’t use an orbital sander very often, so when I do it’s for small jobs and the extension cord adds to the hassle. Since I already have a pile of DeWALT tools and batteries, this sander seemed perfect, and it’s not bad at all! Everything works as it should, it’s comfortable to hold and although a bit noisy, not much more than my corded sander. The power switch is encased in a rubber cover so you have to be deliberate to turn it on/off, but it’s not bad. As with any power sander, the dust collection bag is slightly better than worthless. I just leave them off.

Sander works well, could have a better seal on the dust bag

The sander is a reasonably compact unit and I had no problem plugging any of my Dewalt batteries into it, and its supplied battery fit my other Dewalt type tools. However I felt that it balanced nicely with the 2Ah battery, but my larger packs seemed to make it want to tilt and be harder to keep level. It is loud, but not any worse than other corded orbital sanders I've used. It has a palm grip style handle which gives good control. The speed thumb wheel is easily adjusted in use if you are right handed. Left hand it's a bit awkward but that's life in the "Southpaw world" The power switch is a bit difficult to use, as it's small and under a square rubber 'bubble cover' so you can't feel it easily. However it works well once you get a finger on it.It comes with a small assortment of sandpaper disks, nothing special other than having a good range of sizes. The dust collector bag works well, and it is easy to remove the bag from the plastic frame if one wants to do a really thorough cleaning. However the fabric edges of the bag are not heat treated so it will fray quickly if you do this. (the bag appears to be nylon and I did a light heat fusion job w/ a lighter) In my brief use test, I got very little dust outside the sander, and a lot in the bag so it is about as effective as one can reasonably expect. The battery is a basic 2Ah lithium pack, not anything special other than looking well made. The charger is a minimal unit - it has an LED that is green when plugged in and not charging (done) and blinking red when it's charging. It has a small footprint, not a lot larger than the pack. It seemed to work with all my Dewalt compatible batteries.Overall a nice unit.

Just based on never having heard the name I was expecting to find a sander that was bare adequate but acceptable due the added benefit of being battery powered. What I found was a sander that has me questioning if I like it better than all my name brand ones. Now, I know you shouldn't put too much pressure on a sander but sometimes I need to and find my corded ones bogging down so the first thing I tried was how much force it took to slow this one down. The problems was I couldn't. This thing just kept going with barely a change in sound but what was most interesting is when I released pressure it surged for a sec. This tells me it was actively working to keep the speed constant and something I find impressive. Everything about this thing is though. A nice sturdy compact body with good grip. An included battery that feels just as good as a dewalt the sander is compatible with. Dust collection that really moves some air. It really ticks all the boxes for me. I did try throwing on a comically oversized 60/20v dewalt pack and it worked fine. I have two minor complaints. It does a nice orbital pattern and importantly does sand evenly. First is that the dust collector bag only snaps into place in one specific way that takes some fiddling, and the other is that the batter area has little silicon bits meant to keep the battery in place and I already had one pop out and fly across my bench. It's unlikely that those will last too long. Other than that though I'm somewhat blown away with this thing. As nice as other cordless options but 25% less cost AND it comes with the battery they leave out.

For a cordless orbital sander, this power tool does a good job. It doesn’t exactly put out the power and force of my corded model, but it does well, and I don’t need to deal with the hassle of a cord when working on a job. That is worth a lot, and it can save time. This sander is comfortable to hold, and it doesn’t vibrate a crazy amount. Some orbital sanders vibrate in a manner that makes my hands itch and I need to take breaks to keep it so I can work comfortably. Not with this sander. I don’t have any issues where I need to stop to give my hands a chance to recover. The overall construction feels good and the dust catcher bag does a nice job. Very importantly, even though it does come with a battery, this cordless orbital sander uses DeWalt cordless tool batteries instead of its own proprietary battery. That is a huge advantage. DeWalt 20-volt cordless tool batteries are readily available, and they will be for years to come. Batteries don’t last forever and I also like having extra batteries, so this compatibility makes it a more valuable tool. I definitely recommend this cordless orbital sander.
