Product Description

Perfect for kids who are ready to learn to tell time, this learning clock features hands that rotate with a gentle click, marking off the minutes as they go. The detailed clock face has large red numbers to match the hour hand, small blue numbers to match the minute hand, and a segmented color disk to help kids visualize “quarter past” and “half past.” Also included are 13 double-sided time cards for practice: Place one in the holder at the top of the clock, then match the numeric or analog time shown by moving the clock hands to their proper position. Slide open the “digital clock” window to check the answer! Then place the cards back in the storage slot at the back of the clock for neat and tidy storage.

I generally really love Melissa and Doug products, but this one is lacking in that the time that displays in the little window as the hands are moved is off a bit. Meaning the numbers don't line up within the little display box unless you move the hands further than they need to go. It is off by a minute. If the hands are placed on 10:30, then the display shows 10:29. Yes, I can close the little display window, but it's frustrating that it's not aligned correctly for the price paid. Other than that, I feel this is a great tool for teaching children to tell time (another lost art due to technology). The little time cards that came with the clock are nice. I ended up creating additional time cards on small index cards. Great clock, quality lacking a bit.

Very durable and great value. It’s fun to open the slide to see if your answer was correct. What a fun way to help with learning clocks.

This is a VERY sturdy and hefty clock! I was quite surprised at how heavy it is and it holds up well to my son’s little hands playing rough. The flash cards are laminated which is great. I see this item sticking around in our house for a long time and is an instant classic. It’s a great teaching instrument and is already getting him to read clocks when we are out and about at 3yrs.

I normally love Melissa & Doug toys - solid & study, wood construction, etc, but this one actually left a lot to be desired. When I opened the box I immediately noticed that the top of the balsa wood face plate was broken - either the plastic wrapping was so tight that it cracked or it broke in shipping. Then I noticed that the side of the clock is also damaged, the face plate was separating from the back.As my 4 year old and I played with it I realized how hard the hands are to turn, also that the digital numbers don't really line up right and the slide in the back to cover the digital numbers is so hard to close that it's not even worth it.I'm sad because this should be a phenomenal toy, really well thought out and a great teaching tool! But the construction is lousy. Very unlike this brand.

I'm hoping this clock will teach my niece how to tell the time as currently she is really struggling. Only time will tell but it certainly looked like a good teaching tool.

The hands are a little rigid to move by kids. Overall a great product to teach time to children.

I'm always on the lookout for toys that also help kids learn as well as being fun. My five year old loves this clock and it has really helped him to tell time. He received it a few months ago and already he can tell time on a regular clock with no help. The product has held up well and I hope it lasts long enough for my one year old to use it. The little cards that come with it can be easily lost and bent, so I've kept them together with a rubber band and put them away. My son continues to play with the clock when he plays school so he continues to get use out of it even though he can tell time. The only thing I wish was different is that it has the number 60 on the minute mark under the 12. I understand why they did this, but we never use the number 60 when we tell time. We count minutes up to 59 and then it changes to 00 at the top of the hour. I wish the makers of the clock had put 00 under the 12 rather than a 60. But my son was still able to figure it out.
