I'm coming back after 5 years to write a review for these blocks, since I've been very impressed with them. We got them in November 2019 and have had a now 8, 6, and 2 year old play with them in the most creative and not so gentle ways. They walk on them, throw them, and stack them, then run threw them. So much activity and they are still holding up. Yes, some blocks need some duck tape, but that has only been added in the last year or so, once my two oldest boys started to get heavier and still walk on them and still fairly regularly play with them even at 6 and 8. . . I've had to throw a few away for various reasons not related to their sturdiness. I've been very impressed.

We’ve had these for about a year now. My expectations were low— after all they are cardboard, how good could they be? Well, actually, surprisingly strong, durable blocks. The 3 year old walks on them. She’s ridden her trike and her balance bike full blast into them, with barely a dent. I did not see the advantage to cardboard blocks until she started building tall structures, and then knocking them over. The light blocks can fall onto all of us, and it does not matter, unlike being pummeled with a falling pile of wooden blocks. Overall, we were surprisingly pleased with the quality and frequency of use. Complaints: yes, it’s a tedious job to put them together. Easy, but tedious. And also, the set needs more red blocks. They are used by far the most often. I am searching for a way to order more of the red ones, without getting stuck with a senseless number of additional useless little yellow blocks.

Puede ser tedioso armar caja por caja pues tiene un armado específico para ser resistentes pero mis sobrinos estuvieron felices apilando, destruyendo torres y mil cosas que sólo en su cabeza entendían. Muy buenos para incentivar la imaginación.

Good fun but so much overpriced and tedious to assemble

Bought these for my 3 year old and she loves them. There was a teeny bit of a learning curve to assemble the boxes, but once you get it it’s pretty easy, minus a few potential paper cuts. The boxes stack really well and are really, really sturdy. The only issue we have is where to store them when they’re not being played with, but just stacking them in a corner works.

These blocks are pretty awesome. They are very durable. Assembly will take some time. The first few you do will take some time. Start with the red blocks first. All the boxes assemble the same way. The red blocks are bigger and easier to see how things are supposed to be done. I start in the middle of the block and fold it together from the middle from each side. The little one loves them. He likes to watch us stack them. Then he dances around the creation. Make a wall, build buildings, sort by color and size. 40 blocks is a good start. I believe locally they may sell these in sets of 20. Amazon had the better deal at the moment. I wish there were more bigger blocks. I may buy another kit in a few months maybe when the little one turns 3 he would be more involved and creative in his designs. You could get enough to make a block fort.

This is a great product. When it arrived the box was very large so I was surprised to discover that it was flat pack and that all the boxes needed assembling individually. However, they were satisfyingly large when built, and they are very versatile. My two-year-old builds towers with them that are taller than himself and then gleefully bashes into them to knock them down. My six-year-old likes to construct flat mazes across the floor and put dinosaurs in them. My 11-year-old likes to build wide walls across doorways with them and ask for passwords to get through. A great versatile toy that will be used for many years. One of the reviews I read before I bought this said that the cardboard was robust enough to support the weight of a child. I would disagree with that. It is thick cardboard and the blocks are still in very good shape after six months and lots of play, however one of them has been a bit squashed by my two-year-old standing on it, so I would discourage children from climbing on them.

Given some of the negative reviews, I was a little worried about these cardboard blocks, but decided to give them a try. I'm so glad I did. My 26-month-old son LOVES them and they are so great for imaginative play. "Build-a-house?" he asks me.These blocks are quite durable. We made a pile of them at the bottom of his slide for him to barrel through (hysterical, if you haven't tried it) and they haven't shown the slightest bit of wear yet. He steps all over them, stands on them, and falls off of them but they don't cave or collapse inward. We have built huge towers and brought them crashing down and they still look great. Some people complained about not having enough blocks, but these were plenty for us. Maybe as my son gets older, we'll need more, but at 26 months, 40 blocks is more than enough.Another complaint people had was the assembly of these blocks - I don't get what was so bad about it. My husband and I folded them one night while watching an episode of Friends - it only took 20 minutes with two people to do all of them, and it wasn't difficult at all. After the first one, you get the hang of how to fold them and then it's easy. I'm also surprised at how many people complained they weren't aware they had to assemble them; I would imagine that more toys DO require assembly than DON'T. If you've ever put together Little Tykes Cozy Coupe, you are a seasoned veteran indeed and these blocks are an absolute cakewalk.I'll be buying this toy again and again as my friends' children turn two because of the HOURS of fun, creative play they bring to kids. Definitely worth the price for me and I have zero complaints about this product. It beats the heck out of the loud, obnoxious toys shown on every commercial!

The blocks are exactly what I was hoping for: Large, light-weight so the kids don't kill one another toppling towers bigger than themselves, and absolutely fun in their utter simplicity. The blocks were easy to assemble. Two of us did it in about 15 minutes. Once you get the hang of it, it's kind of fun, especially with the kids eagerly awaiting the next block. My kids love to build everything from 5-foot towers to tables and chairs for their dolls. They mix and match with their regular blocks for added texture and sounds effects upon destruction. If I had to list drawbacks, the biggest is that while the blocks are well enough reinforced to handle a bit of weight (the kid standing on the red block in the photo, for example), the sharp edges of the other blocks put some serious dings into the cardboard when the blocks topple onto one another. I could see these dings leading to destruction of the blocks over time. Our blocks began to get dinged up within the first five minutes of use, and it's not like the girls were unusually rough with them.Too, consider storage. An assembled set of 40 can consume an entire toy box (luckily we happened to have a spare).Lastly, I wish there were more jumbo blocks (the red and blue), and less of the yellow.Overall, none of this detracts from the well-executed purpose of the set. I believe it will last just as long as the kids need it to, and if it doesn't, at this price we'll just throw the beat up ones in the recycle bin and buy another set.
