They have a fancy name and they are the most sturdy, durable cymbals I have ever purchased but I do not like the sound of them. They seem like they would be great for jazz or something of that sort because they have a very distinct tone and there's little to no trash in the ring. I like to play rock and roll and country and it just doesn't have the right tone for that. But, they feel and respond like they would last forever! By far the most durable feeling cymbals I have ever owned. I wish I could return them but I'm afraid it's too late. I am not sure what I'll ever do with them and I spent a lot of money on them. Now I know not to drift away from the cymbals I know and love. I thought I was upgrading but these are just not for me.
