I have many oil pastels, most are top end and I have to say these are really nice. Creamy, smooth, blend very well. I wish there was more than one white in the 72 set, however it’s ok. Also the colors on the swatch sheet are more muted than the actual stick. The sticks are vibrant and have good pigment but for me I do wish the muted ones were actually muted though. When I chose to buy this set it was because the colors presented seemed to be a more muted tone which is what I was looking for but all in all this is an excellent set especially at this price point, almost too good to be true. I’m very happy to have added them to my oil pastel collection. Meeden continues to impress me with all of their artist supplies.

All of these are new and silky smooth. The amount of colors at this price point is a great value. These are easy to use and store well. I'm not an artist, but the colors are easy to apply or even blend if needed.I think that this company creates a good set and I would buy it again.

The colour range in the 72 box is amazing. I'm a novice at working with pastels and whilst I have found this medium a little hard to work with, it is not the product itself. They blend and overlap nicely creating a vibrant result. Care needs to be taken to avoid too much pressure as they snap quite easily. Overall, very happy with theses.

Such Fun! Although I am a senior, I still try out at least one new project or activity every year. 2025's choice was pastel drawing. I am impressed with Meeden's set of 72 sticks. It certainly gives me a wide palette to experiment with. The oil pastels, themselves, have a rich color base & are buttery in consistency. They smudge and blend easily. Clean-up is a breeze; dishwashing detergent on my hands, followed by a moisturizer and a paper towel for the sticks.

This 72-piece set of soft oil pastels is fantastic! The range of colours is impressive, and the pastels themselves are incredibly smooth, creamy, and easy to use. I really like these oil pastels. They're soft and creamy, even after being left out in the mailbox in 17 below zero weather overnight! They blend well, and they layer nicely. There's a good range of colors, but I would have liked to see more than one white in the 72 set. That's the only thing I would have to complain about these, and it's not really a big deal for me because I have other sets with whites. I think the price is good for 72 pastels. If you're looking to try your hand at oil pastels, this would be a great set to start with.

I have been interesting expanding my artist activities and these oil pastels appeared to be a good option. They aren’t the cheapest nor the most expensive set available. They are in the middle of the price range of what I saw and for the range of color options this set comes with, actually appear to be a set with great potential. It came well packaged and I like the fact they were also wrapped as well to aid in not overly saturating one’s fingers while handling and holding the different colors.
