Overall a good palette. Nice and sturdy. I like that the pans remove so you can re-arrange or clean them.

Molto pratica e funzionale. Ci ho fatto entrare 20 mezzi godet e forse riesco anche con 21. Ottima da portare per fare dipinti all'aperto.

After reading a lot of reviews, and hearing comments about other palette tins, this one seemed to stand out. I must say that I am VERY pleased with this palette for a number of reasons: First, it is pretty. Second, it is very sturdy. Third, the little containers for the paint are a good size for the brushes I use the most. And the mixing area that folds out is great, especially for travel. I'm sure I will buy another one, as I continue to collect tubes of paint.

It’s great for the money for sure. It’s nice and portable, I could fit all my detail brushes or like 4-5 small/medium brushes inside it. The color is exactly as pictured, the box itself is exceptionally sturdy and it does stay closed. The reason I gave it 4 stars was for two reasons, the half pans fit great and all, but they don’t click into place. Which means they slide back and forth, but they don’t pop out. So not really a problem especially if you keep your pallets full. The panels that fold out for you to mix paint on? The paint beads up horribly on them. I had to spend about two hours sanding them down (magic eraser didn’t work) to get them to a point where my watercolors would puddle and not bead. They still bead a little but it’s better sanded.SECRET FEATURE!!! Not only is the actual metal piece that holds your pans in removable, BUT underneath it there is another even better mixing place! It still needs to be sanded like the rest of them, but total it gives you 3 separate mixing areas for when your on the go or even at home. I have included a picture showing you what I mean. The half pans were all perfect normal quality I received it all very quickly and packaged well! I’d order all my pallets through them unless they come out with one that has a non-beading mixing area.I also included a photo showing you how many brushes fit inside with it still able to close and latch. Don’t mind my stained mixing areas once you sand the shiny white coat off, it stains every use. Keep that in mind if you are OCD, choose wisely between perfectly clean mixing areas or usable paint puddles instead of beads.

I have 3 smaller Meeden brand watercolor palettes that have worked well for me over the years, and due to my growing paint habit I decided to expand into this larger 52 pan size. I had initially ordered a *slightly* cheaper palette from another brand assuming that all these metal palettes were basically the same. Turns out that there IS a difference in quality, so i returned the other one an got this Meeden palette and I couldn't be happier. The one downside is that the empty plastic pans that came with this palette don't quite match my existing half pans. These half pans are actually branded Meeden on the bottom, their size is slightly different, and the color of the Meeden pans is slightly creamy vs. plain white. I don't think that these differences would bother most people - especially if this is your first palette/pan experience - so I didn't want to deduct any stars. Just FYI in case you're weird like me and those kinds or small differences drive you nuts. I suppose I'll sell the Meeden pans on eBay or something. The palette itself is great.I can't really comment on using the rails that hold the pans in place because my preference is to glue magnets to all my pans so I can fit more in. It did take a bit of patience and force but it wasn't too difficult to pop the rails out of the palette tray. Now I can cram 66 colors in!One last tip: I've seen complaints about the way watercolor "beads up" on the new enameled? painted? mixing surfaces of palettes like this. I agree that it is annoying even though it's totally normal for the material. I like to use a bit of toothpaste on an old toothbrush - or even just on my finger - to "rough up" the surface just slightly. Makes the mixing experience much nicer right off the bat! I've tried using a very fine emory paper in the past (much finer than regular 220 grit sandpaper), but it took too much paint off. Toothpaste is the way to go!

This is a pretty little tin, if you work with watercolor or gouache you’ve no doubt seen, or own dozens of these. The middle row doesn’t hold pans as easily as the Prima Marketing tins, so I took pliers and popped the brackets out.The brackets were placed too close together, had they pushed them all the way to the long edges, a middle row of half pans would have been possible. After that, I realized I couldn’t fit my planned whole pans into the round corners, so I just tossed the tray and placed my pans into the bottom of the pan.To make it more even, you could use a thin piece of sheet metal or plastic in the bottom this would help for magnets. I did it bother because the whole pans are pretty snug.I wanted a small tin of mostly full pans so I don’t fry my nicer watercolor brushes when I’m on the go, by using them in small half pans. It’s nothing special or ground breaking, the same as other watercolor boxes of this style. I liked that they offered some pretty colors on the outside for a reasonable price. This is my bang around travel palette. I’m glad I bought it.I’ll probably grab one in the other color design as well. It’s a good quality tin, especially for the price. The palette is a mess right now, but here are some photos. I took these in a room with a warm-light lamp on,so be advised that the color is off.
