Sponges are just like the ones used at hospital. Each one is securely wrapped but for extra sanitation concerns they should come in a closed and sealed box.

The photo used (at least as of today) is a different gauze product than the title and what’s described. However, what you received is what is described. Attached are photos of the item. It’s the split I wanted (this is a soft material not the scratchy stringy one that falls apart). I have a SPT and use this around the tube to absorb drainage and comfort. Works great. They do not scratch, itch, or irritate my skin like other gauze. You get 25 packages that have two split gauze pads inside them.

These are exactly what I needed, a soft cover for my perm cath. It's the right size, soft, thin so I can breathe, and comes up under the two tubes to cover where the catheter enters my body. Really met my needs. I tape it at the top, sides, and bottom to keep it securely in place. So it does gap. If you are looking for something to be snug against your skin this may not work for you. It is clean, but will not stay sterile. If you have oozing I don't know if it will work either as I don't.
