The coupling nipple is too long to join the 2 black rods. The threads in the ends of each rod are not deep enough to receive half of the nipple so they can’t be joined seamlessly leaving threaded silver nipple exposed. Because there are m10 threads, replacement nipples aren’t easy to find at a hardware store. Definitely ruined a day of work for me

If you use the coupling to join two rods you will not get a seamless join. Even with the coupling completely screw into the rods, it will still be exposed (see picture). I also found tat if you use the couplings to join the rod to a standard light socket you have the same problem.

Exactly what I needed to adjust the Globe Electric Emery ceiling light that only came with 16 inch extension rods. The light fixture was either too low or too high but we really wanted to make the light work, so we gave these 6 inch extension rods a try and it worked great. We ordered the bronze colour and it was very close to the matte brass gold colour on the light fixture. The French Gold option may have been the better match, but I can barely notice the difference so we decided not to bother ordering and trying a new gold colour.Make sure that you measure the extension rod on your light fixture to ensure that it uses an M10 thread before ordering this extension rod.
