I have purchased 20 of these drives. 2 batches of 10 drives. They have been very reliable. but they are louder than more expensive drives. If you don't mind the louder drives, then these drives will be fine.

Talk about infant mortality:0 secs. wont even spin up. i can hear it trying. better now i guess then when in service. I would not using with RAID 1 or other fault tolerance with these used things.

Using in a mirrored NAS setup and working great (bought 2 drives)! 1 month in, zero problems and after drive balancing a little, each drive is 70% utilized and no errors. If my use-rate remains constant, I should have a couple years before I need to expand again.

We bought this because we wanted a LOT of space for our own internal server in our home (why pay someone $150/yr to store your files when you can do it yourself for free). This was quick and easy to install into our desktop and we created a folder in it for network sharing. Easy to use, and great cost savings.

Update: I exchanged the defective drive for another identical one (easy with Amazon returns) and it works fine so raised this to 4 stars. Original review: I purchase these refurb drives as a cheap way to back up my entire home business desktop system for off-site storage. Multiple backups exist so this is not 100% critical or under heavy repeated use in my case but I do need them to work if I lose my system for some reason. I've had good luck with one refurb drive from Amazon but the one received on this date (20TB size MDD Enterprise Drive says the label, no idea what's actually inside) would only click and clack oddly and never spin up to mount on my desktop (not visible in Disk Utility on Mac either). I'm letting Amazon send another one with their fairly painless return process and will try again (returning the defective drive of course). You can't beat the price but they do have to work.

Working well so far. Checked the SMART datat and everything is in order. Plan to use the 20tb HDD x3 in a NAS. Will try and update the review overtime.Update:11 months no problems or errors.
