Xeroform Petrolatum Dressings

Xeroform Petrolatum Dressings

These McKesson dressings come in an innovative Xeroform material, a gauze mesh that adapts to the shape of the body for optimal comfort. It doesn't stick to the skin and has deodorizing properties. The Xeroform dressings contain a 3% Bismuth Tribromophenate solution, which has bacteriostatic properties. The dressings are easy to use and suitable for self-medication at home. Their occlusive properties help wound medication stay in place. Use them for small surgical incisions, first- and second-degree burns, and skin abrasions. Cutting the gauze to the right size is easy. They come in a tan hue that matches many skin tones. The product assists in autolytic debridement, a natural process where enzymes break down the wound's damaged tissue.

Xeroform Petrolatum Dressings

For Wounds With Light Exudate

The Xeroform petrolatum dressings work well for wounds with light to zero exudate. They feature a 3% Bismuth Tribromophenate formula with bacteriostatic properties. The formula also deodorizes the wound. The dressings help create a moist environment around the wound, promoting faster healing. The dressings also promote autolytic debridement, a process during which the body's own enzymes destroy necrotic and damaged wound tissues. This is one of the most common wound debridement methods because it's cost- effective and has very few side effects.

Xeroform Petrolatum Dressings

Soft Mesh Material

The wound dressings come in a fine mesh gauze material, which can absorb different types of wound exudate. This material is free from latex to help minimize the risk of allergic reactions. The dressings come in a tan color, which blends with many skin tones. Each dressing is individually wrapped for maximum hygiene. The dressings are sterile and disposable. They're easy to use, so people can easily change their own dressing at home. Cut the dressing to the proper size for the wound.

Xeroform Petrolatum Dressings

Advantages of Xeroform

Xeroform is a flexible dressing material that follows the shape of the body. This makes the dressings comfortable to wear. Xeroform doesn't limit the patient's movements. The material doesn't stick to the wound, so dressing changes are less painful. The dressings are occlusive, so the medications stay in place and the wound stays moist. The material is splash resistant and is suitable for surgical incisions with low exudate, minor burns and skin grafts.

Just had an ankle fusion that has 7 incision sites. The sites wept blood for a few weeks and this product, same as the surgeon’s office used, made gauze removal easy and without any sticking.

They worked for what we needed them for after my husband's surgery. A little more googey than the hospital ones but worked just as good.
