Works well so far! Will update if not. Functions fine, drills seem to be durable. Size and ease of use are both great. Value is great considering how hard these are and how slowly they wear.

All given were very much appreciated-I hope to “borrow” one tomorrow to take apart the path light screw that won’t budge. Was advised by carpenter friends a must to have in tool box

Trying to remove tps sensor screws. This item cannot drill into anything that is not butter. I had to use my own drill bit to start the hole, even after that it could not drill into at all. Then went back to my drill bit and finished the job and i thought i could at least be able to ise the reverse drill to get the screw out, NOTHING! It can't even drill itself inside to make the screw come out! I read instructions and made sure to drill properly and even looked up videos to make sure i was making an error with the drill. Nope. This thing is worthless. Sending back asap!

It is not uncommon to snap the head off a rusted screw or bolt. Your left with no way to extract the bolt because you can't "grab" it with anything to try getting it unscrewed. This product allows you to drill a wedge hole into the screw and then using the extraction bit to slowly unscrew it. I had a particularly difficult problem that all prior attempts failed. I really didn't think this was going to work for me, but thought I'd give it a try and ordered the product. It didn't work, as I suspected, but these extraction bits will be useful in future situations.First about the product. This set provides a bit with two sides. One side drills a wedge hole into the metal of the screw and the second side (using reverse), then digs into the wedge to extract the screw or bolt out. The more your reversing, the tighter the extraction pressure gets to break the rusted screw out. You have to flip the bit to get to the extraction function, which reduces the number of bits you have floating around. It also ensures you using the right sizes drilling bit for the extraction bit. Other products have 2 bits. One for drilling and one for extracting. If your not careful, you can use the wrong size drill or extraction bit when trying to get a bolt out. The material appears to be hard and these should work fine. Provided you are able to start drilling into the material to create some type of wedge, which can then be used to extract the screw/bolt. I was not able to test extraction in a worse case scenario that I had. The case for holding the bits could be better. There is no description, logo, or anything on the outside of the case, making it hard to find in a toolbox. Second, the case is small and the bits are tightly spaced, so it becomes difficult to get your finger or finger nail under the bit to pop it out of the case. Not real issue with the product itself. My special problem situation. I have a bolt on a muffler that you unscrew to clear out the muffler of debris and then put it back in. While trying to get the bolt off, I tore the head off. The edge of the bolt was relatively smooth. My previous attempts with other extraction tools, titanium drill bits, colbat? drill bits all failed. The other extraction tool bit broke off on the first spin. An immediate failure after drilling the wedge. After doing several things, we ended up back with a smooth bolt edge. We could not get a center hole to start drilling. We couldn't drill a wedge with a smaller bit, we couldn't drill a hole with a metal, titanium, or cobalt drill bit (they just kept breaking), we couldn't punch a depression in the metal. These extraction bits are designed for super hard materials, so I thought I'd give them a try and ordered them. However, I still was not able to drill a wedge hole in the bolt material. I don't consider my situation to be normal given all the failed attempts, but I'll deduct a star for not being able to drill a wedge hole in my hardened muffler bolt steel.I'm still glad that I bought this set as I'll have other projects coming up with busted bolt/screw heads that I need extraction. Something useful to keep in the toolbox.
