About this item

  • MAXXIS MINION DHR II: With side knobs borrowed from the legendary Minion DHF, but widened to provide more support, the Minion DHR II offers excellent cornering and braking traction.
  • DUAL COMPOUND: Two distinct rubber compounds are used within the tread to offer a balance between rolling resistance and grip.
  • EXO: A cut and abrasion-resistant material added to the sidewalls of many of our gravel and MTB tires. Suitable for use in a wide range of riding applications from gravel to XC to light trail duty.
  • E25: Tires with an E25 rating are suitable for light duty e-bikes with assistance up to a maximum of 16.1 MPH.
  • WIDE TRAIL: Optimizes the tire’s tread layout and profile to match today’s modern, wider rims. Maxxis offers WT tires for everything from XC to gravity applications. A 30mm internal width rim is ideal for most applications, but WT tires can be used on rims ranging from 19mm to 35mm internal.
  • QUALITY GUARANTEE: 1-Year Manufacturer's Warranty

These tires are heavy, but they’ll keep you from sliding on the steepest of slopes. If you like riding on the edge, it doesn’t get any better.

I’ve ran Maxxis tires for ever on my MTB, they’ve always been a solid tire, fast, grippy, and durable. The DHR and Assegai are my favorite combo on my SB130. The tubeless tires mount easily on my Carbon Wheels!

I’m running the dhr ii as a front tire on my bike. It rolls quick but also has lots of grip. I can really push it into the corners and not feel like it will give out on me.

Excellent tradeoff of grip and rolling resistance. Works well over rocks, hard pack and loose over hard. Dual compound wears slowly so the tire lasts a long time in good shape and is more like to be replaced from damage than wear in my experience. Only negative is that it's not as good in muddy conditions as the treads can get a bit clogged. Not terrible, but there are better tires if you tend to ride in muddy conditions a lot.

The DHR 2 is an excellent tire if traction is very important. It doesn't roll particularly fast, but delivers well on grip and mud shedding. It also has great volume and is fairly durable.

Great tire! Rode it for about 3 weeks, tore a lug off it and maxxis warrantied the tire. I just uploaded a pic of the damaged tire and a new one appeared in the mail the next week. If the product hadn't failed initially I would have given it 5 stars. I also ride a minion DHF on my front wheel and have not had any problems with reliability on that tire. Very grippy, aggressive tread.
