This is a durable hole saw that is capable of easily cutting holes in harder material given the bi-metal blades. Unlike less expensive "Carbon steel" hole saws which can be only used to cut holes in soft woods (no metal, no MDF, no hardwood), this unit can easily work on all sorts of wood and MDF. I haven't tried it on metal yet, but I would assume it would work on softer metal such as aluminum or mild steel, proper cooling would likely be required to prevent overhead and excessive wear. For wood and MDF, this works like a champ. The deeper cup also means it can cut almost 1.5" thick of material, cheaper hole saws often can only cut up to 3/4" or 1".

It’s a hole saw, it makes holes. That’s about all you need to know.

I bought this holesaw specifically for drilling the 6" regulation hole in the cornhole set I am making and will make in the future. The holesaw is somewhat agressive so lower the drill speed and go easy. I makes a beautiful clean round 6" hole in plywood, particle board, and OSB.

Easily cut a perfect hole in a 1.7 inch thick desktop with a Formica top. The teeth seemed to be somewhat larger than they looked in the photo. - I was concerned about how clean they could cut through the Formica. Surprisingly, the cut was clean with a crisp edge.Cutting through the plywood was easy and super quick with a 110 volt power drill with a 1 inch chuck - the hold saw teeth are very sharp. The torque would have twisted my arm if I did not have the drill setup to operate with large handles on both sides.I only needed to cut 2 holes so I cannot tell how long the teeth with remain sharp.

For a bi-metal holesaw, and a good price, this product fits the bill in both categories. I used this to install a cold air intake on a 1st gen Tundra. The pros:•Good price•Came with prime shipping and return guarantee•Overall teeth were sharp and in good condition•Threaded arbor receiver hole fit the Large hole saw arbor very snugly•The slots and cutouts make it easier than some saws to remove the cut piece from inside the hole saw•Teeth are sharp, cut well, and remained sharp after cutting through 14g quarterpanelCons:•The weld on the side connecting the cutting edge to itself could be better, the only weak spot in the product•This product would also be much better and receive the final star if it came with the necessary arbor size included. My carpentry holesaw arbors didn’t fit so I had to get a new and larger one.Overall:•I would recommend this hole saw for anyone doing a 4 1/4” hole in light gauge steel, it probably could handle thicker material if it were used in a drill press as opposed to a cordless drill.
