Volume not ideal. Kinda small. Perhaps 34 oz would make a bit more sense. Also the shape is a bit odd, top diameter should match the bottom and there's a big air gap at the bottom. Too big. A gap of 1/8 inch would've been sufficient. And the handle feels child-sized. Beware people with big hands!

Several design factors make this the perfect mug. The flared base making it very stable and not easy to tip. and the the small opening makes it hard for my cat to sneak a sip

First, let me say that I have read several reviews for this mug before I ever purchased it. Thus, I went into the purchase knowing that putting the mug in the dishwasher isn't a great idea (as noted by photos others have posted showing rust around the welds that hold the handle on). I also knew that some folks had a problem with the handle coming off or being partially broken off when they received their mug.However, I also saw that there were far more positive reviews than negative ones. So, after quite some time of considering the purchase I finally placed my order.My mug arrived quickly and undamaged.First impressions were positive even though there are two dark spots near the rim. I am assuming they are from the metal getting hot during finishing.It seemed small for a 20-ounce mug but, I used a 2-cup measuring cup and measured out 20 ounces of water. The mug DOES indeed hold 20 ounces! However, when you put 20 ounces into it it will be VERY close to the rim.Others say theirs has a plastic handle. I cannot speak to what others have but, the handle on mine is metal. However, it is not the same type of metal as the mug itself. The handle is shinier than the mug making me wonder if it is plated with chrome or another high-shine metal?The handle is slightly awkward to hold comfortably because of its shape. While the shape matches the over-all style of the mug a heavier, fatter handle design might have been better and more comfortable to hold. Though, I must admit this is something I sort of anticipated based on the product photos. Also, a handle that is one piece with the mug would have been preferable even though I know it may have been harder to manufacturer the mugs that way.I have used the mug once so far (washing it first) and noticed no odd taste to my drink (which was Coca-Cola). I had the mug filled with ice and the handle got rather cold after a while. So, beware if you put a hot beverage in yours. I don;t know how hot the handle would get but, it would definitely get VERY warm from the temperature transfer.PROS:1- It looks damn cool!CONS:1- slightly awkward to drink from because of the rim shape2- Washing in the dishwasher is not recommended. (based on info from other reviews)3- A little smaller than you might expect.4- It does not sit in my drip-tray coaster (a minor con especially since I do not know how much this mug might "sweat" with condensation when drinking cold beverages with ice).Things that would make this mug better:1- A slightly heavier handle with a more rounded grip and being one piece with the body of the mug.2- A slightly larger physical size. As I said, the mug DOES hold 20 ounces but, only if you don't mind filling it to the rim.I have a glass mug which seems a big larger than this stainless steel one but, I after checking I discovered it is also a 20-ounce mug (which also gets filled to the rim with 20 ounces). My glass mug has a similar size mouth to this mug and is at least an inch taller which may be why this one seems like it is smaller than 20 ounces based on its appearance.Do I recommend this mug? Absolutely! Though it should be noted that I have only used it once and have only had it for about a day at the time of writing this review.UPDATE: after just over 4 years the handle came off. Seeing the small weld spots that held it on I am surprised it didn't happen long ago. Luckily, the handle didn't come off while I was holding a full drink. I wasn't even holding the mug. I hit it with another object and saw "something" go flying. It took me a second to realize it was the handle.

Great mug.

This is my second or third purchase of this mug for gifts for others. Although I dont like the shape or look of it much (it looks a little like a medieval cup) it works AMAZINGLY. It gets so cold when you leave it in the freezer that when you pour beer in there, some ice chunks start to form! It keeps beer very cold and its such a great purchase for the price. I have had one for 3 years now and it still works great

A great mug for tailgating use. Sturdy, stylish, much better than plastic cups. I have not added any dents due to dropping and they clean up easy. Just realize while they are steel, they are pretty thin. I am not sure why someone said they had issues with it being heavy on their belt at a Ren Faire, as these are very light, my wooden mug of the same volume weighs FAR more and causes no issues with my belt. I am not sure how long they will keep cold things cold or hot things hot as I have not had an issues of the temperature going the wrong way before I had emptied the mug.

I love this mug!!! I enjoy a cold beer, so sue me, and what better way to enjoy a cold beer than in a metal mug that you can pre-chill in your freezer? I also need to comment on one review that criticized the handle for not being robust enough to suit the reviewer, I found the handle to be quite adequate for what it is intended to do, which is to give you some way to hold the mug without the heat of your hand warming the contents! I highly recommend this product. It gives your everything you need in a quality metal mug without breaking the bank to do so. In fact it is one of the most reasonably priced mugs i have ever found. So if you want a high quality great looking mug for a decent price, you simply cannot go wrong by buying this one.
