Amazing!!!! I’ve tried so many different things and this was the only thing that literally had no smell in my garage and works effortlessly!

Brilliant product, would say if you know there is alot of paint then will definitely need multiple applications. Smell isn't terrible which is always beneficial, thickness is like pva glue. Good value for money.

Works very well on Porcelain sign with thick layers of paint on the back. Put two thick layers on and let sit a week. Peels off with my thumbnail!

I tried this stuff on window sills. The were varnished over stain 40 yrs ago. Not very effective. I followed directions including covering with plastic. 2 Minute Stripper didn’t work either. FInally resorted to sanding. I have lots of experience. Methylene choride worked great. Too bad it’s no longer available.

It was first using paint stripper. I prefer sanding but on my current project there were several layers of paint and sanding was very time consuming so I decided to give it a go.I did several tests on small sections to see if product worked and how to get best results.Need to put generous amount is very important. I initially applied with a brush and applied almost as I would painting but found it worked best when it was a bit “goopy”Wrap it in plastic after application. My project was larger so I put plastic drop cloth right on top of it. It’s ok if it sits directly over it.I found 30 minutes waiting worked ( no less ) best for several layers of paint. The more layers of paint a second application could be necessary. If sanding to finish. Need to sponge off with water as directed.Product is fantastic if used as directed and helps to save time on project.

This works but don't leave on for hours on end because you'll be scraping more than you want to, I made the mistake of trying to remove black paint from a set of wheels and left on overnight which seems to have turned to paint to a rubbery substance that's very hard to remove now

Bought this to strip the really, really old, thick varnish off wooden doors and wasn't crazy about it. It's pretty thin so hard to get the thick layer of remover the door needed; It took two attempts to get the varnish off. I'm now using a different brand that's thicker, smells better, and takes the varnish off with one try. Also, Max Strip can't really be used for vertical projects as it's too thin and would run. It's not bad and can get the job done...just (in my experience with it), there are better products out there.

When used properly, the stripper does do its job as advertised. However, it is tricky to get it to stay wet and not to dry out. When it dries, it is completely useless and does not strip anything. The first couple pieces I did, I had to apply multiple layers just because I couldn’t figure out how to cover the furniture properly so the stripper didn’t immediately dry on top. Invest in some quality, thick saran wrap that you can use to keep the seal air tight when using this product. The stripper is better at taking off the top layer of polyacrylic/varnish, but is not great at stripping paint or stain. Each piece I’ve done has still required a significant amount of sanding even after stripping. There are better quality strippers out there, that being said for the price, it does a decent job.I do appreciate that it does not have a strong chemical odor. It works rather quickly, but definitely needs longer/multiple coats for thicker surfaces.

This gel like product was easy to paint on, didn't drip or run when applied. Directions were clear and easy to follow.Unfortunately, it did not work to remove any of the varnish or paint on my chairs. I tried all of the techniques recommended, wrapped it in cellophane, left overnight, kept moist etc. and still none of the varnish or paint lifted or was able to be scraped off.

I cannot recommend this product enough! I started with the toxic, terrible smelling and dangerous product that is the competition & after frustration and terrible messes I gave this a try. It is AMAZING!!! Easy to apply, but be generous! Make sure to cover with plastic/cling wrap to keep it wet, and be patient!!! It will do the work, and when you go to remove it, it comes off easily and cleans up beautifully with WATER! No more toxic fumes and rags to worry about disposing of safely. So pet, people and in home friendly I was able to apply it indoors without any concern! I have four more pieces and will ONLY USE THIS moving forward!

I have been building custom electric guitars for many years and have always used a different product. Thought I would give this a try, BAD Decision. It is the worst product I've used. Applied per the instructions, 45 mins later it's like a dried glue. Totally destroyed a $700 guitar body I custom built. I Do Not recommend. this product. once dried it is almost impossible to remove with soaking it with water. Then has to dry again before it can be sanded.Never had this problem with the other product so back to dealing with the strong oder , at least the other worked as described.

I wanted to strip a badly damaged and weathered varnish finish from a nearly 100-year old mandolin. I applied Citrus Strip to a section of the top and left it wet for about three hours. It took off the upper layers of varnish for sure, but left an inconsistent, patchy surface with plenty of finish still present where it was deeply absorbed. A second application didn't significantly improve the surface and I feared I was looking at either significant sanding (hazardous on such an instrument) or applying a dark, opaque finish that was not my preference.I tried Max Strip on another section of the top: after shaking it for a minute of two it poured and spread like a wet foam that was easy to control with a small sponge brush. I left it on for about an hour and half, and removed it using a Scotch Brite scouring pad rather than a plastic spatula that can be tricky on the arched, curved surface. The result was dramatic compared to the Citrus Strip. The Max Strip removed enough finish to reveal the wood with just a transparent patina of wash-ed out varnish. Additional rubbing with the scouring pad removed the final sheen and I was down to greyish wood - light sanding exposed fresh grain that can be prepped to accept a new transparent finish. To neutralize the stripping action, wipe the surface down with a damp rag and let the piece sit and dry out.Easy use, easy cleanup. Great product.
