They come pre-charged with nitrogen gas to help create a dry interior to inhibit the formation of rust on the interior of the tank. Note: When storing these tanks empty the user must either backfill them with nitrogen or maintain and full vacuum to prevent moisture from creating rust on the interior.

I ordered based on the description of "DOT-APPROVED RECOVERY CYLINDERS-6L"; however the small tank I received is marked for the European market with an "EN13322" marking, there is no DOT marking on the tank as required for use in the US.edit: seller quickly updated description to accurately describe tank & approved my return right away. upgrading to 5 stars.
