The first one I gave my son for Christmas broke after 3 days - the lava hardened and it didn't work as a lava lamp. So I initiated a return and got a new one. Before I could even send the first one back, the second one did the same thing on the second night of using it. Now I have two Spider-Man lava lamps to return and a scared 3 year old because for some reason when the lava hardens it freaks him out.

My grandson love his lava lamp šÆ... Just gonna keep a eye on the plastic glass ...it gets a little too warm ...but other than that.... Perfect š„°!!!!!

Works well just isnāt as fun as I thought it would look. Wish there was more to see when itās hot but it is pretty cool and my kids love it. Not very bright so may not work as a night light alone for kids that are really scared of the dark but if they donāt mind, itās great!

**Edit to add: Lamp died after a few months. āLavaā got hard then just sat in the lamp. Then bulb just died altogether.Original review: Did a complete overhaul for our sonās bedroom and when he said he wanted a lava lamp we expected to get one from a national chain near by for a few dollars. I guess I should be thankful Big Brother was listening in because this got suggested to me and itās one of the items he talks about on a daily basis. Not the hours of custom cityscape painted we did but the lava lamp. Such is a 9 year old boy. As long as heās happy, weāre happy.
