Marobee Medium Weight Fusible Interfacing

Non-Woven Medium Weight White Fusible Interfacing

Non-Woven Medium Weight White Fusible interfacing

Instructions !!

Now, you can pursue your hobbies and create stunning sewing/quilting projects using non-woven fusible interfacing. Being semi-transparent, this interfacing adds to the grace of your projects. The good thing about non-woven interfacing is that you can easily cut it in any direction, for your desired shapes and sizes.

  1. Place the wrong side of the fabric up and then place your interfacing (shiny/adhesive side facing down) on it.
  2. Place a light cloth on top of it for flawless results.
  3. Finally, press it using a hot iron. You need to set the temperature (medium to high) depending upon the thickness of the interfacing. Press it firmly for 10 - 15 seconds. You may need to repeat the procedure once again.
  4. Once it fuses properly, let it cool for some time, before using it for the next step.

Sewing Fusible interfacing

Medium Weight Vs Lightweight Interfacing

If you want to add a shape, strength, and structure to medium-weight fabrics, this medium-weight interfacing is all you need.

But, if you want durability and structure for your projects having lightweight fabric/material, then lightweight interfacing works well.

Shiny Side

Which Side Has the Strong Sticking?

The shiny side of the interfacing has an adhesive coating that sticks firmly to the fabric for neat results.

It looks shiny as it has very tiny glue dots on it, which makes it look a little bumpy/rough as well.

So, you can check bumpiness/roughness or shine to find out the fusible side.

Cutting fusible interfacing

Adding Structure, Durability, and Support to Your Projects

This non-woven fusible interfacing supports fashionable clothing projects, applique work, quilting projects, home decor designs, various art projects, etc.

In every project, interfacing adds stiffness, durability, and holds shape. In other words, grace, sophistication, and strength can be assured with it.

Fusible interfacing Medium Weight

Did You Know that Fusible Interfacing has 4 Major Types?

Cut Piece of Interfacing

Non-Woven Fusible Interfacing

As it is made up of 100% polyester, and has no grain or fabric structure in it thus it is very easy to cut it in any shape/size. Plus, it is machine washable and has a longer life.

Woven Interfacing

Woven Fusible Interfacing

It has a fabric-like structure, made up of weft and warp fibers interwoven (lengthwise and crosswise) together. Thus, it needs to be cut along the grain.

This type of interfacing reduces the drape of your fashion fabric, so it’s not best suited for times you wish your fabric to have a good drape.

Double Sided Fusible interfacing

Double-Sided Fusible Interfacing

As it is double-sided fusible, it is used to bond two sides of the fabric together. The most popular use is for applique projects.

Fusible Fleece

Fusible Fleece

As the name suggests, it appears to be fleecy and is used to add loft to fabrics. It is usually thicker and thus used for specific projects to add body and softness e.g pillows, bags, and totes.

Interfacing can add a magical effect to your project. The project will look much more neat as it maintains its structure and durability.

Uses of Fusible Interfacing

Did you know both woven and non-woven fusible interfacing are classified into three different weights: lightweight, medium weight, and heavyweight?

Uses of Lightweight Interfacing

As the name suggests, lightweight interfacing is for lightweight fabrics. Lightweight interfacing is perfect for mask making, light quilting projects, t-shirts, appliqué work, etc.

Uses of Medium Weight Interfacing

Medium weight interfacing is for medium-weight fabrics. This interfacing is perfect for sewing projects, bag making, hat making, quilting, etc.

Uses of Heavyweight Interfacing

Similarly, heavyweight is to support heavy fabric or heavy material-based projects. Usually, it works best for heavy fabrics such as coats.

I made my grand daughter a cross shoulder bag. For the lining I decided on cotton and for the outer layer use canvas cotton. When it came the time to use the iron on the interface to glue on the cotton fabric, it was not easily transfer. I had to increase the heat on the iron and I had to iron for awhile. I was happy when it finally stick. Unfortunately, after awhile, the interface made fabric look wrinkled. Now I am debating if I should gave my grand daughter this bag.

I liked that it was in sheets because easier to cut and measure than the rolls. I found this to be the best value for a fusible. I would definitely buy again.

I needed to get something to help reinforce and maintain the shape of some doggie bow ties I've been making for my dog, and couldn't figure out how others kept their shape so well! I purchased this to see if it would help and it did the trick! It was pretty stiff at first, but over a bit of time it slightly softens up with wear. I haven't washed his how ties just yet, so it'll be interesting to see if it continues to reinforce the shape after that.

I'm not a sewer, that why I purchased this iron on. I should have bought a lighter weight, my fault. I pinned the interfacing to the fabric. Instructions state to place a cloth over interfacing before ironing to prevent direct contact, but that didn't work well. I ended up ironing it on without the cloth which worked better. I still had creases in some spots, even with pinning and re-adjusting the interfacing. An experienced sewer probably could do a better job with the whole process.

First time using this type of product. I followed the directions closely and became frustrated, as this seemed to not be adhering to my fabric. Maybe my iron doesn’t get hot enough, etc. I set it aside for a few days and came back to it. This time, I had a much better outcome. The adherence is excellent and I am pleased. I did tweak the instructions a bit to get this result. I found it easy to use, and clear which side is to be placed on the fabric.
