About our Fusing Mat

Easy to apply: The innovative, transparent design ensures good visibility when creating applications. Simply place your paper design under the transparent doormat, then simply layer your composition on top of the doormat.

Non-slip mat: special non-slip silicone prevents your mat or fabrics from moving, so your pattern stays in place while ironing. Simply place your fusing mat on a wool ironing mat or other ironing pad while ironing, and blend your design without worrying about moving pieces.

Non-stick coating: The fusing mat has an amazing non-stick surface that protects your meltable so that it can be heated repeatedly.

Press sheet: Contains a thick 30.5 x 45.7 cm non-stick press sheet to protect your iron. Simply place the press sheet over your fabric while ironing to prevent any fusibles from getting on the soleplate of your iron. Since the press sheets are also non-stick coated, the melt film can be easily wiped off. This can also be used as a transfer film for heat press.

This mat is the perfect size for the appliqué project ts I will be working on in 2025. It is not too big, not too small and using this mat will make adhering the applique pieces easier, and with less mess. It’s easy to clean, so that is a plus!

It was a recommendation from a quilter and I'm glad I bought it. I'm working on an applique quilt and it makes piecing much easier. The paper pattern is protected and ironing and placing is a breeze!

I have a similar sheet I was using for quilt applique which I like, but it was not large enough for the project I was making. The size of this was listed as the same size as my project which would have been good, but there is the green border around this item that makes the visual space smaller. Not a fan of the grid lines, I thought it made it a little harder to see through than the Teflon sheet I had previously used. All the other large size sheets available seemed to be in a buff color & I thought those would be hard to see through so I purchased this one. The project I was making is a bit intricate (horse head with flowing mane) so it was important to see through the sheet for proper placement of the quilt pieces, even though I was also using a vinyl sheet with the pattern traced on it over the top to help with placement. The mat is a bit sticky so that keeps it on your pattern without really needing to fasten the two together and the stickiness also keeps your quilt pieces from sliding around so that was nice. I have put all the pieces together but have not actually ironed them on so I can't review that yet, though having the additional Teflon sheet to place over the top might be very nice since a little bit of the fusible webbing ended up on the top of one or two pieces, so the protective sheet will keep any sticky residue from my project from getting on my iron. So basically it worked well enough for my needs, even better if it had been a little wider or not had the border around it, but it was nice as it's heavy and doesn't slid around on your project.Wanted to update with some pictures. There is one picture with my old mat next to the new Precision Mat. I don't think you can really see the grid line in the picture. For my use I didn't feel the grid lines were necessary & they bothered me, but other people might like them. As long as you are working in good lighting, you should be able to see through the mat well enough. The other picture is my project after fusing it together, but before I removed it from the mat. It removed easily. This mat is nice (now that I'm use to it), it stays in place and I will likely continue to use it for my other projects.
