This flute lyre is very easy to set up. It snaps together easily, without any additional tools. You do need to make sure that you have the small nut that tightens it down, or it wonโt work. The elastic strap for the arm fits well on a smaller personโs arm, but might be a little tight for someone with a bigger arm. Since it is elastic, it will probably also stretch out eventually, and not work as well. The lyre sits comfortably on your forearm, and itโs still at a good distance from your eyes, so you can read the music. This comes with several sheets where you can put your music. Sheets fit easily into the flute lyre. It has two metal rings, like three-ring binder attachments, on the top, so you can easily flip pages from one sheet of music to the next. The flute lyre also easily adjusts the angle of the music, so you can turn it to the right or left as needed. What I donโt like: the nut is small and easy to lose, and if you lose it the lyre is useless. Overall, though, this is a comfortable, reasonably priced flute lyre.

My daughter got this to use in marching band in August. She used it about 6 times before it broke. I'll be buying a different brand next time.

Daughter used this in marching band for only a month, brand new, until it broke right at the spot where it's supposed to twist around. Where it's DESIGNED to twist, it snapped right off. Value is great, fit was wonderful, functionality was such an amazing idea, and my daughter did find it comfortable - but not worth it breaking after a month.

I ordered this for my daughter who plays flute or piccolo with the pep band at football and basketball games. She likes this lyre because of the ability to adjust the viewing angle, which is easier than using the school-provided lyre. At first she had some problems getting it adjusted to stay in position on her arm, but after she figured out the technique, it was fine. The page inserts on this lyre are slightly larger than the school version, so we had to copy/slightly enlarge the pages on our multifunction printer. Everything is made of plastic, time will tell if it holds up to repeated use/abuse.

My 8th grade son needed this lyre for his flute for pep band. The teacher recommended one but I decided not to go with it because it was expensive, you had to pay extra for shipping, and you also had to buy the music sheet inserts as they were not included. I found this one and I'm glad I did because it's perfect. The arm band is very secure and also comfortable. There's no pinching elastic and no jagged plastic edges to bother the skin. The wire prongs that hold the sheets down seem to be very fragile in a good way so that they are easy to maneuver one-handed and quickly, but at the same time, I could see how they would be prone to breaking or bending if not cared for properly by teenagers. I like that the prongs are on the front and back side of the plate so that everything is secure at all times and there is less chance of error during play time. $20 may still seem a little steep for what this is, but considering quick and free shipping, I guess it's worth it if it's something you need quickly. A coupon that would bring it down to the $15 range would be an incredible value. Happy nonetheless!

I got this for my daughter who is getting into marching band this year. She has used it a few times and made the necessary adjustments so it works well for her. She really likes that it has pins on two spots instead of just one in the center to hold her music as well as having them on the backside so her music won't flip forward if it is windy while she is marching. There are a lot of ways to adjust the tightness and the angle of the music with this lyre. Seems like a good product so far!

This did not hold up very well. Didnโt make it halfway through marching season.

My daughter only used this item maybe 4 times before it completely broke off and isn't useable at all and she didn't tell me sooner now too late to return it. We bought one for her school freind same thing happened $50 out the window. $50 more to replace them. The plastic is to cheap to withstand a marching band. These kids march !!!
