Marantz CD6007

Marantz HDAM Technology

Marantz developed its own discrete circuit boards to replace standard ICs. These HDAMs consist of discrete surface mount components with short mirror image L/R signal paths. These devices do exactly the same thing as the Op-Amps but outperform the regular IC Op-amps dramatically in terms of the Slew Rate and reduced noise level, resulting in more dynamic, accurate and detailed sound. In the CD6007, the proprietary HDAM-SA2 circuit improves on its previous HDAM module for a more stable power supply. The idling current stability is less influenced by power transistor temperatures to maintain sound performance even at high level output.

Reference Quality D/A Conversion

The CD6007 features a new Hi-Res D/A conversion. It is equipped with a reference class D/A converter, offering two selectable filter options, and provides up to 192-kHz/24-bit and DSD 5.6MHz resolution for optimum musical fidelity with tight bass, pleasant mids and smooth extended highs for CD playback and Hi-Res formats from USB memory stick.

Marantz CD6007

High Current Power Supply

The audio power supply employs high speed, high current Shottky Barrier Diodes and new higher value current storage capacitors compared to the previous model. The size of the power supply capacitors has been increased by 120% for improved current stability and reduced AC noise during high demanding listening sessions.

High Slew Rate Op-Amp + HDAM-SA2

Compared to the CD6006, the CD6007 offers an improved and redesigned headphone amplifier section. The CD6007 inherits the exclusive Marantz HDAM-SA2 circuit with three gain settings (Low/Mid/High) for a perfect match with almost any brand of headphones for an optimal solo listening experience.

Sounds good. I bought this model because it supported play from a usb drive. I was surprised to find that it does not support NTFS formatted drives.

The good on the Marantz 6007 was the great sound it produced. The bad was every cd played skipped at some point. Some skipped several times. For the cost of this player I was surprised. This was supposed to be a high end product. I was very disappointed. So I am returning it. Expected more from Marantz.

High quality and yet affordable CD players are now a rare find. I have a significant collection of CDs and when my 20 years old player quit working, I found the pretext to refresh it with this legendary brand Marantz player.I matched it with my now aging Marantz amplifier, the sound is sweet.Operation is most simple, no exaggerated features. Just insert CD and press play. For classical music, no need of programmed tracks.Aesthetically pleasing , I feel proud of my new CD player.

Took a few attempts with lower cost cd player say $340, to realize if you want a dedicated cd player in 2024, that works this price range is the least you can pay. The clarity is excellent. Someone described burning in of electronics, excluding speakers, as nothing more than your ears getting used to the sound differences that manufactures have. At first i felt its sound overall was heavy on bass. Then i was pleased with unit but wanted the so called burn in to happen to lighten it up. Now a month later i usually love the sound though once in a while a cd will play that makes me think, there's that bass again. Mechanically it works nicely. Hoping no trouble for years. So far i am pleased.

I have been building (and rebuilding) my audio room for a few months, focusing on vinyl and analog hi-end components. I wasn't intending to add a CD player to the component list, but while I had sworn off CD's a couple decades ago, and the resurgence of LP's allowed me to delay the inevitable, the cost and availability of vinyl caused me to rethink including a CD unit. The Marantz CD6007 filled the bill very well with quality construction, including a disc transport that doesn't make you feel like the drawer may cease to open at any given moment. The DAC is audiophile grade and when pushed through my preamp it diminishes that sharp digital characteristic - providing access to album / content via CD's that are either out-of-press availability coupled with a true high-end product from Marantz has me feeling very good about adding CD's back into my audio library. For a sub $1k unit, you can't go wrong with this unit.

Very solid and well built unit. Great sounding with both my CD's and with a USB stick. Very pleased with the feel of this stereo component. The CD tray is solid and the front panel controls seem solid. The remote functions very well. I like that I can put a USB stick in and let it randomly play the entire device. The display is limited and as such some users might find it easier to navigate a USB if the component has a link to a TV display. I was shocked that Marantz shipped this in a box clearly marked Marantz (no over box) and that sat on my porch for the day. Also the box was pierced right down to the very last layer of paper on the cardboard inner flap from a packaged dropped on it during the shipping process I assume. That was directly over the remote which had no extra protection on it. But it survived.

While the sound on this is very good, our CD player broke within 6 weeks, well within the 90-day warranty but the seller did not honor the warranty. Very annoyed.
