Most child scissors don’t cut well but these cut easily though paper and thin cardboard. I love how you can engage the tab so the scissor will automatically spring open after it is pushed down. This has helped my daughter effortlessly learn to cut. Now we have moved the tab over so she can practicing both the open and close motion herself. When she tires, we just engage the tab again.

As a school-based occupational therapist, I teach students paper-cutting skills. Most kids can squeeze a scissors, but don’t necessarily and/or inherently know how to open it. The self-opening feature makes it easy to teach the “motor memory” part. The size of the holes makes it easy for me to slip a few fingers in with student’s smaller to help teach the motions. One flip of the lever (?) and it’s a standard scissors, too. Great product and relatively inexpensive. :)

We have tried 3 other safety scissors before this one, and they all had issues. Not sturdy enough, to much room between blades making it hard to cut even for an experienced user or hard to open. but these scissors are the BEST!! hands down will only be getting these for my kids and family going forward. Sturdy, durable and easy to use. the spring makes the biggest difference. our LO was using them 100% better then any of the others on day one! there is also a little switch to allow the scissors to close when not in use. worth every penny.

I bought these to help my 3 year old learn to use scissors. With the spring loaded lever, it really does make a massive difference with ease of use for little tots. The little one has now moved on to cutting circles and she is really quite proud of herself!Great product for helping kids learn to art and craft.

The picture shows green color on the scissors, however I received a purple color clip instead of green. The scissors themselves are amazing and have helped my son very much. I wish I could have chosen the color and am not happy to have purple instead of green for my son, but other then that the scissors work well. A huge improvement in cutting for my son!

I am a special ed teacher. I love these they have been incredibly helpful for all students with difficulties cutting. I give these away to teachers for their students. We have moved to full day KDG in my district and the art teacher loved these so much she orderded them for her class. For kids with physical challenges, these are the best of all I've used. The handles are molded which helps the student place their thumb and finger in the proper position. Once the student squeezes the scissors to cut, the scissors springs open, requiring 1/2 of the nomal work. The scissors have a lever that can be closed if a student does not need the scissors to spring open. I have ordered these from different vendors on amazon and they have all been recieved quickly. These are a must have for beginning cutters.

I bought these for my 2 year old and he figured out how to use them on the first try. Cut that paper to shreds! I opted for a scissors that would cut well (at the expense of safety sheathing over the blades) as I knew he would be frustrated by one that didn't work and that he wouldn't be using them unsupervised. I also hope that he'll be inclined to use them longer as they won't seem like "baby scissors" for a grade schooler.Pros:- Sharp cutting edge- Visually appealing (my toddler pointed out all the colors)- Easy to use- Spring-assist can be easily disengagedCons:- Right-handed onlyAs with any scissors, toddlers will need supervision - they do cut and cut well. I had to remind my son not to walk with the scissors in his hand, not to touch the silver part, and not to put it by his face. But he loved them to the point that I had to hide them so he doesn't get them out on his own.

I bought these 2 months ago for a 2.5 and a 3 year old. They are fantastic! The 3 year old picked them and started cutting right away with no problems! My 2.5 year old HATED using scissors. She didn't understand where her fingers go or how to hold them. These scissors are nice since the handles are two different colors. She remembers her thumb goes in the black one and her fingers go in the white one. She us unable to cut with normal toddler scissors and would get frustrated very easily. They scissors actually cut! I even use them myself sometimes! The only problem I've seen is that these are for right handers only. They will not work if you try cutting left handed.

Our two year old has shown an interest in cutting with scissors. We first bought him a pair of regular safety scissors. He is doing a great job with them, but wasn't quite understanding that he need only pull his fingers back apart to pull the scissors apart. He was taking the scissors out of his hand, pulling them apart with two hands, and then situating them back into his right hand to make the next cut. Needless to say, he was frustrated. These scissors were the answer! They spring back open for him, so he can continue on with cutting! He is really enjoying practicing. These were a great price too.
