Fresh out of the box and after perusing the owner’s manual, I adjusted the settings to ‘12’ and took this little beauty out for a spin. In no time I went from whole-bean to espresso grounds in no time flat! The sleek-black body and walnut-handle belie this simple grinder’s smooth-action. I am an instant fan!

I was desperate for good coffee in the suburbs of a state I don't live in and that required bringing my own beans and finding a hand-grinder. This one is pretty slick, great quality, and easy to travel with. It's fairly quiet for a grinder. My only complaint is that it's a little exhausting to grind with, but I'm positive that's because I have weak arms, as my partner has no problem.

Highly recommend, works perfectly, high quality build. You won't be disappointed. I had bought different coffee grinder on Amazon for $40, horrible quality, felt super cheap, this is a night and day difference.

Bought this grinder as an entry level grinding device, not wanting to spend $100+ on an electric model. Have been using it for a few weeks now, and am impressed by the consistent grind quality it produces. It does take 30-40 seconds to grind enough for a double shot (2oz), but I enjoy the small workout as part of the routine. I advise setting it to grind size 8, gives a good fine grind perfect for espresso! The build quality is solid, no flimsy parts in sight. Buy it, you won’t regret it.

The first herb I tried to grind is a too resinous herb that is very difficult to grind. This grinder failed there, too. Back to chopping with a heavy knife. or cleaverI tried a mix of white pepper seeds, coriander seeds along with some cardamom pods. I did break up the pods but put it all in the grinder. This pepper grinder rocks! What takes a long time using a mortar and pestle took a few minutes with this grinder!I've got the size dialed in for these seeds and I am very happy with this grinder.Heating up aromatic seeds then grinding them is limited by the choices. Plastic is risky as hot seeds melt the plastic. Rock, ceramic and even wood mortars work, just don't spill the hot seeds. This grinder works, without a whimper.Hot toasted cumin seeds are next. Perhaps cracked small pieces of cinnamon perhaps?Yes, this grinder seems a little pricy, but check out the prices on any decent pepper mill. This grinder is faster with plenty of leverage. It is also very good at grinding coffee, but I don't need it for coffee at the moment. I need a good easy manual grinder to grind aromatic herbs that are best hot and fresh. Fresh ground herbs at any meal.

I have had this grinder for about 3 weeks now and roughly ground about 20 cups of coffee with it at the time of this review. To make this short and sweet, this is a wonderful grinder! The entire grinder is steel, durable and heavy. It has the premium feel and is has 30+ grind settings which make great cups of coffee. If you are getting into coffee grinding or looking for a gift, this is perfect!Only 2 things of why its a 4 instead of 5 star. Due to its price and structure, it can produce quiet a few fines in your grounds, which more advanced coffee enthusiasts will not like. Also, due to its steel structure, it can be difficult and cumbersome to adjust the grind sets. Once you find the grind setting you like, you want to stay around that area as it is difficult to change.

No complaints with this beautifully-made coffee mill. It works very smoothly, takes little effort to turn. It took about 20 turns to grind 8 grams of beans. Very quiet, unlike electric grinders. The integral screw-on bottom cup is great - it catches the grounds without spilling any on the counter. Grind size is very uniform. Comes with a fabric travel bag and cleaning brush. TO CLARIFY THE INSTRUCTIONS: Note that the setting dial is calibrated from 1-12, with 1 at the clockwise limit, at which the burr is locked and can’t be turned. Usable settings are at 6 (very fine) or above. Once you get to 12, the next coarser setting is 13, which reads “1” again. A setting of 20 would read “8” (actually 12+8). Unless you leave it at your preferred setting all the time, you may need to back it up one or more 360 degree turns clockwise until it stops at 1 and start over. Simply add 12 for each full revolution CCW, so for a setting of 25 (coarse for French Press) you would make 2 full CCW turns and then stop at 1.
