I’ve been repeatedly repairing a favorite wind chime for years with upholstery thread that kept breaking, and I needed something that would give me a more permanent repair. This fit the bill perfectly. The wind chime is not directly exposed to the weather, just dampness, wind, and temperature changes and I’m hopeful that my repairs will last. I just put it outside so I can’t speak to how well this cord will hold up, but I have a good feeling about it

Purchase for use with art students in high school and middle school for windchimes, jewelry and such. This cord is good quality, and easy for students to tie the knots for the intended use. It is of a good thickness as well for both uses.

I feel like this frayed way too easily and I wasn't able to work with it how I wanted to.

I open the packaging just to see that the spool is cracked in the middle. Have to unravel 100 meters and put it on something else. Not happy. Time is money

Spool snapped in half after first use. I'd call this lightly waxed thread. Seed beads and similar sized beads were tricky to get threaded. I had to keep snipping the end to get a fresh, unfrayed end, then gently twist it through the bead. If I licked the end to bring the frays back together, the wax was removed. That being said, this is awesome for simple projects not intended for sale. The wood beads of my mala rubbed the wax coating off in about a month, which then lead to poofy bits sticking out between the beads. Photo is newly strung bracelet with similar beads.

I have neck issues that prevent me from wearing anything with too much weight around my neck. .. so I've transitioned to mostly small charms, but even those can hurt me after 25 minutes or so. My solution? I use this cord to make a three strand braid that is long enough to loop around my bra strap and hang over my neck and shoulders- that way the weight is supported on my bra/shoulders and not the back of my neck where my issues are.I've used this cord and their blue shades for this for a few years now- and the only time I ever feel the need to switch out or refresh them is if I'm tired of a particular color or I've worn it so long that the color has started to get dingy. I'm not saying they bleed- because they don't. I shower, work, and sweat in them in a daily basis and they hold up, it's just the oils from my skin can color the lighter shades after 6 months or so.But for daily wear and tear and pretty much living in this cord? It holds up. It doesn't fray or break. It's easy to work with. It's lightweight. It's comfortable against the skin. One roll of it lasts FOREVER too.I've got zero complaints about this product and have been a repeat buyer many times.
