After several months of using the Malta Dynamics Warthog Comfort MAXX Steel Safety Harness for Fall Protection, I can confidently say it is reliable and comfortable safety equipment. The harness is OSHA/ANSI rated, providing me with peace of mind regarding its safety standards. The L-XL size fits me well, and I feel secure during use. The straps and back support padding are comfortable, especially during long work hours. The steel construction feels durable and able to withstand harsh working conditions. On the downside, the weight of the steel components makes the harness feel heavy, especially when worn for extended periods. Additionally, the price point is a bit higher than other harness options on the market. However, considering its comfort and security, it's a worthwhile investment for anyone prioritizing safety and comfort during fall protection work.

Having worked as a ride maintenance mechanic for one of the largest amusement parks in the country, I'm pretty intimate with fall protection gear. As a matter of fact, I had fall protection gear issued to me, and had to be checked out on it every year. Sometimes, they don't pass (I found a faulty piece of clamp-on gear with my fall kit once and had it replaced). Servicing amusement park rides can certainly put you in some high-altitude situations, and you learn to take the gear seriously, and to take care of it.As someone as experienced with fall protection gear as I am, I was pretty excited to get my hands on this Malta Dynamics Warthog Comfort MAXX Steel (boy, that sure is a mouthful, lol). I'm 5' 10", 190 lbs (roughly), and the L-XL fits me like a glove. In fact, I decided to wear it while I type this review, and so I am. And they aren't lying about the "comfort" part. I could seriously take a nap in it. I might pop the leg straps to do so, lol, but still, it's very comfortable.I had 0 difficulty donning the gear whatsoever. Total time to get this on once you have your straps set is maybe 30 seconds. 2 leg buckles, a chest buckle, and a waist strap / buckle and you're in and ready to work. As I said previously, I take my fall protection gear quite seriously and have found problems before and had them rectified, so I gave this a really good once over. The buckles are 4000 lb rated, and engage smoothly and surely, and release with some effort and manipulation (it's that way on purpose). But push both release tabs and CLICK off it comes. The total amount of time to take it off is less than putting it on. The total time to get it adjusted to fit me (I had to shorten the torso straps a bit and give myself a bit more room in the thighs) was about 20 minutes, maybe half an hour. One of the problems when you're in charge of this kind of gear, is simply getting the guys to wear it. And a HUGE part of that is making sure they have gear that 1. Is easy to get into, 2. Is easy to get out of, 3. Makes them feel (and BE) safe, and 4. Is comfortable to wear and move around in. My experience with this kind of gear tells me that this is the rig I want to get for my guys. It does 1-4 in spades, no problems no questions asked. But not only that, but it's one of the better looking harnesses I've ever used. It's pretty much decked out in "Harley" colors, and who's going to hate on that? Not me. Oh, and it meets all applicable safety standards, AND comes with a trauma strap pre-installed. Nice. A line and fall arrester and you're ready to enjoy the view.I've climbed the biggest roller coasters in the world. I've dangled from a crane in a man basket and been way high up in a cherry picker at night and in high wind, lol. I've done some things. I would have no problem, no fear whatsoever, to do any them wearing this harness. It's one of the best I've put on, frankly. And I don't rubber stamp safety gear. Someone's life might depend on it, and it probably does with this type of equipment. This is a fantastic harness. I recommend it, for you, or for your people up high that you're responsible for getting home to their families every night. 5 stars, and deserved.

I don’t know much about these things. I have several children that are iron workers; one is an apprentice right now. The journeyman in the family took one look at this harness and pointed out several positives about it and said this was a nice harness. So I will defer to his opinion and say it’s a nice harness

I ordered the LG/XL based on my size (5'10" tall at 170lbs). The size is great and I'm guessing I could have ordered the next size down and still been fine. The rig has numerous adjustment points from the legs to the chest to the shoulder. Once adjusted, mine felt really comfortable. There's a recovery tether attached in a small bag that I'm not sure I'll keep on for my purposes. I have a kit bag I attach.Ordered this for climbing the mast of my sailboat. Overall, the thing seems sturdy and well built. The metal components all seem solid though the rings on the front of the shoulders are a little small for my personal liking. The big ring on the back is very robust. Stitchng all seems appropriate for this sort of equipment and the latch points for the legs and chest all seem solid.
