Second set after my Thule set had the end nut handle break. Easy to attach and switch from folded to use. Holds the boats snuggly and after putting a paint pen line to note the optimal lock in, quick set up when we need to use them.

These racks seem durable and love that I don’t have to take them off after each use to be able to drive into the garage.

Mounts nicely to the Malone trailer bars. Comes with different length screws depending on the mount. Worth the extra cost of cheaper ones.

This mount is great on my 2013 subaru outback. The old problem I have is it put 2 dents in my new kayak due to there not being enough padding on the lower part of the J carrier. Other then that it is a great mount.

We purchased two sets of these, off several recommendations and we mounted them on our rhino racks. When we went to use them the first time one of the lever locking handles came off. Looks like the roll nut was stripped when it was assembled.I sent malone an email along with pictures of proof of purchase and the parts I needed. They responded and shipped the parts out quickly. A shout out to Owen and everyone else involved in getting me these parts.I will continue this review once we use them a few times.

Just bought 2 sets of this Foldaway J, replacing a single Foldaway5 center unit. I did not like the center unit due to it being harder to reach the cradles, and having to hold the kayaks straight up while tightening the straps. These 2 units are closer to the edge of the roof, and lets the kayak lean back enough to let go of it to tighten the straps. As for the molded wing nuts, based on other reviews, and not trusting plastic wing nuts at 60mph, I have replaced them with nylon locknuts and washers. I will leave the cradles on the cross bars and remove the bars when not using the kayaks.
