About this item

  • EXCEPTIONALLY CLEAR IMAGES: The Maksutov-Cassegrain Telescope is celebrated for its compact design and top-tier optics. Its optical system incorporates a folded light path design, which serves to minimize light dispersion and elevate image quality to a remarkable level.
  • 80MM OBJECTIVE LENS: The 80mm objective lens allows more light to enter, providing high resolution. As a result, it excels in nighttime observations of dim and distant celestial objects like Saturn, Jupiter, and the M31 galaxy. During the day, when paired with a smartphone camera, it functions as an outstanding 'telephoto lens,' perfect for capturing intricate details of everyday life.
  • EFFORTLESS TARGETING & SWIFT FOCUS: Our self-invented gimbal simplifies object alignment, offering quick and precise adjustments with its two knobs. Furthermore, a handle lock keeps the gimbal securely in place. The Fast Focus feature, along with our patented Focus Indicator, ensures effortless and crystal-clear focusing, allowing you to fully immerse yourself in exploration and observation without wasting time.
  • PORTABILITY: With an 850mm focal length, the telescope tube measures a mere 22cm in length. In contrast, a refractor telescope with the same focal length would necessitate an 85cm tube. This portability makes it exceptionally suitable for camping or hiking.
  • ADJUSTABLE & ROBUST TRIPOD: Crafted from reinforced aluminum alloy, this tripod boasts a sturdy and stable design. Its broad base covers a maximum area of 3.6 square feet, providing ample support. With a maximum height of 46.45 inches, it accommodates various heights and allows for a variety of observation postures.

This is a bad ass telescope! Really surprised at it's capabilities with how small it is. Love it. Great telescope for the money and a good one to start with beginners. I've been able to see nebulas, planets, star clusters, and the top secret construction being done on the moon with this telescope.

HOROX Maksutov-Cassegrain Telescopes for Adults Astronomy, 60mm Aperture 830mm Catadioptric Compound TelescopeI use this HOROX telescope for pre-spotting for astrophotography (which I do with a 10' Meade reflector). This instrument and its tripod offer a fine setup for doing just that, or even for direct observation of the Moon, Jupiter, and Mars. Too, I have used this bayside to identify incoming shipping. Here, the image is not distorted, but there is a bit of UV haze present that, of course, does not apply at night. I note further a bit of chromatic aberration or dispersion at the image edge extrema, but it is minor against a scope of this cost. Tripod action is smooth, consistent, and steady once locked down. All in all the HOROX 'scope delivers excellent value for money.

This is a beautiful telescope… unfortunately I had to return it because I needed a bigger aperture but the packaging was absolutely beautiful and it looks like a very well made piece of equipment.

Should work as intended. The primary mirror arrived flawed with small nicks or dust.Another caveat, although this telescope is priced good, the business who was selling them is no longer active (Decouvir and Horox), so if purchasing be aware there is no method to contact the manufacturer and the warranty will be 30 days with Amazon. Amazon could not find their contact information either.I will update if I find the telescope does not work as I expected or the primary mirror is too flawed to view objects without a problem.

A great telescopes for adults astronomy, happy with the Saturn and Jupiter observation (even better in naked eyes than what I took with the phone). The best part is wild life watching as it really pull animals close to your with sharp images. I'm happy with the value from this telescope purchase, typically I would expecting $500+ if I'm buying a telescope in Maksutov design from Celestron like the one I have at 127mm with them.
