I ordered this angle drill to have in case I needed it. Sure enough, just days later I had to use it and I was very happy with the amount of power this tool has. Such a difference to be able to hold on to it better and not twist your wrist on harder to screw items or drilling holes in tight spaces.

These work excellent for drilling beams and large diameter holes, but it’s also the best mixing drill I’ve ever owned. Battery life is good, easily handles full buckets of thinset or barrels of self leveler.

This is the least expensive, lowest end of Makitia's right-angle cordless drills. Some say it lacks power and features. That may be true, but it did great for punching 1/2" holes in pressure-treated and cedar decking. It did exactly what I needed. I was impressed with it.

Right angle drills are difficult; I often need them to drill substantial holes ( e.g. 3/4" to 1" or more ) through studs in tight places. I have the Makita 3/8 corded drill, but it is an ergonomic and performance failure. ( I often accidentally pull the trigger which is part of the handle, which is dangerous, and it is high speed and thus lacks the torque to drive a self-feed 3/4 inch to 1" bit. ). This cordless drill is better in all respects, slower, safer handling, plenty of power, no cord. You can remove the handle behind the chuck if the space is really tight. Thumbs up, Makita! ( added later: this drill continues to impress me. I own a lot of Makita tools, dating back 40 years, and almost all have been excellent, from 16 and 10 inch circular saws to their oldest and newest cordless drills and circular saws. The only weak products I can remember are the 3/8 right angle drill and their chainsaw mortiser, an unusual tool that works but does not cut true vertical, a weird design choice. )

Drills holes in studs so much easier than using a regular drill.
