Does not deserve one star. Purchased two of these for use with our pool ladder. They split and brook apart during the first season of use. The sand then spilled into the pool requiring removal of the stairs and removal of the sand left in the pool. Not made for use in swimming pools. Very poor product.

I bought this product but couldn’t use it for the style of pool stairs I purchased. I would suggest waiting for your stairs prior to purchasing this item.Product is true to description but seems overpriced for what it is.

These work great at holding the pool stairs down and fit perfectly. The handle also makes them easy to set. I originally tried to use the crappy sandbags that came with the stairs but they were cumbersome and hard to get set in place. I had one of the sandbags rip on me spilling sand on the bottom of the pool. I would highly recommend these to save yourself some headaches.

Simple to fill and use. Nice big handle to find under water. Had to really work to get both under the ladder and on the beam evenly but finally did and very happy with them.

Holds exactly one .5 cubic foot bag of sand. Very durable plastic, we have great confidence that it'll hold all season or longer. We only needed 1 for our pool stairs, but bought 3 not realizing how much sand it held. These would be fantastic to use as weights for anything that need held down or tied down. Definitely recommend!

This is second time I have purchased these. We had them hanging on rod under steps for two seasons. We believe the chlorine broke them down and the containers broke. This time we are just placing them on top of steps to hold down.

I thought this thing came filled with some sort of weight but it is simply a plastic bag!!! It is strong and seems durable but for $50... I would have never purchased it if they would have told me all it was was a heavy duty bag and you add your own weight to it. way overpriced.

I thought the opening would be much larger but when we got it the size of the hole is misleading from the picture. If you use a play or packing sand it is a struggle to get it in the container. Make sure you buy a dry loose sand to put in it. After getting the sand in the container you can feel how thin the walls are. We have it zip tied to the stairs in our pool in hopes it doesn't break open. We will see what happens when it is removed this fall....

Update: 2019-06-13: ours just wore out. The plastic started to get cracks in it and started to leak sand. Time to buy a new one.Original post:Does what it says, it works. Others complain about leaking sand/etc. Here's the thing. Put the lid on and tighten it down, don't swing it around. Don't mess with it while it's in the pool. I've had mine there for a awhile and never had an issue. I can see how you would have an issue if you keep messing with it and swing it around. Its plastic and it's going to move. Be careful with it, set it in there, leave it be and you'll be golden.
