I dont know what species this lure is intended for, but I picked it up to add to my muskie tackle. Haven't caught a muskie on it yet, but I haven't caught a muskie at all so that's more on me than the lure. It does, however, have fantastic action on the retrieve, and flutters really well on the drop. I'm sure a big fish would love to bite it if I were a better muskie fisherman and could actually locate a fish.

I feel that these compete well with the 9" Tsunami brand flutter spoons - similar size and action, slightly better price.I am not sure that the cool paint job matters on these especially at the depths they are used.

VMSIXVM 8" Classic - 3.7oz Silver.Excellent size to weight ratio, I don't feel like I'm throwing a boat anchor. In the shallow flutters along the top of the weeds with a slow retrieveSo far has been a good producer for northernsMissing a few hits, I changed out the 3/0 hook to a 6/0, after that no misses.Nice durable finishAt 20 bucks a pop they are a bargain.👍

My husband loves using spoons like this when he is trolling offshore. The ultra-simple shape and great flash and action when slow trolling always make him happy with what they attract. They are cost-effective, and most of all, they catch! Just about anything will strike these big spoons. From salmon to striped bass to sharks and tuna and countless other species, both fresh and salt, he packs this in his gear back whether here on Long Island or when he is traveling to a destination fishing spot.

I love using spoons like this when I am trolling offshore. The ultra simple shape and great flash and action when slow trolling always impresses me what they attract. They are cost effective and most of all, they catch! Just about anything will strike these big spoons. From salmon to striped bass to sharks and tuna and countless other species both fresh and salt, I think they imitate a wounded herring that is in panic mode. Now this is designed as a "casting spoon", with the right rod you can cast this. Keep in mind it is 9" long and 5 oz. These appear to be stamped metal. Not as heavy or nice as the crocodile types that are much thicker and heavier. That said I see this as a slow to medium trolling lure way back in the spread... all alone. Everything will come up to investigate. It comes with plenty of hooks. It has a large heavy treble hook at the tail and two assist jig hooks at the nose. I will probably remove the nose hooks and may swap out the treble to a large single if it proves to be difficult to unhook. Regardless I think this will perform well no matter if you are casting to fish, trolling offshore in a spread or using a downrigger deep. I want to add that the quality of the swivels are of the ball bearing type. This is key because the lure will have a lot of spinning action and a good swivel is necessary to prevent all kinds of line twisting problems. There is one on the hook as well as the nose of the lure. The price is reasonable for what it is. It is not as heavy and thick as I would like but again, I think it has a place in my tackle collection.Positives:• Large size• Great flash• Reasonable cost• Salt or fresh, cast or slow troll• Well made, simple• Will catch many different species.Negatives:• Not as heavy (or thick) as others, may not stand up to abuse as well.• Lightweight (for size) limits the trolling top speedRecommended 5 stars

I didn't know a spoon would come so big, and glossed right over the 8" 9" part in the description. I was expecting a 3-4" spoon for redfish and received this monster. Haven't tried it yet, but it's pretty stout.

Big lures catch big fish. This is a BIG lure and it will catch B-I-G fish. It’s not meant for bluegills. It’s meant for large predators like striped bass and bluefish. There are lots of ways you can fish this spoon..You can troll it.You can cast it, but it’s a hefty lure so you won’t be casting it very far.And you can jig it.To jig it you simply drop the spoon straight down to your desired depth and then you snap your rod tip up quickly. That snap makes the spoon dart upward and it creates the appearance of a fleeing baitfish. When your rod tip is pointing skyward, quickly lower the rod tip and allow the spoon to flutter back down to its starting point. That fluttering movement draws in the big fishYou will be amazed at the vicious strikes you’ll get using the spoon this way. It’s a simple and very effective technique. The spoon is sturdily made from stainless steel and good quality hardware. It’ll last a long time and even the largest fish will have a hard time damaging it.You’ll be glad to have these spoons in your tackle box and you’ll wonder why you didn’t get them sooner.Pretty good price too.Cheers !
