This is a very solidly made tool. It's bit heavy and awkwardly balanced, but the handle is comfortable and it's a solid, sturdy head. This works great once you get used to wielding it, and makes roofing a lot easier and faster. It's thoughtfully designed specially for roofing, working not just to hammer nails in, but also to measure, loosen shingles or remove nails. It works pretty well at all of these jobs, which is impressive. The magnet isn't the strongest, but works well enough to make hammering easier once you're used to positioning the tool. Overall, this is a very handy tool that actually saves time and effort. The sturdy build is quite worth the price.

This is a solid tool at a fair price. I’ve never used a roofing hammer, so I’ve only traditional hammers to which to compare it. I used it to install new asphalt shingles while repairing one of the sheds at my farm this morning and I really liked using it.PROs:(+) The magnet is strong and held nails firmly in place. It took me a few whacks to get the hang of it, then I was left wondering how I ever lived with such a tool.(+) The quality is decent and should last a lifetime for a non-professional.(+) The built-in utility knife is clever, although I didn’t use it much. The knurled nuts that hold this feature in place are solid and well machined.(+) The size and weight felt right to me.CONs:(-) It appears to be a cast tool and lacks the fit and finish of my usual tools. (Mostly Craftsman, Kobalt, Husky, and similar mid-priced tools for non-professionals.)There are at least a dozen identical roofing hammers on Amazon that are +/- $5 of this one, so I’m guessing they’re made in the same factory under different names. Regardless, this roofing hammer isn’t cheap, but it works well and I expect it to serve me well at the farm.

Large strong magnet in head of hammer for button caps nails or roofing nails. With practice a single stoke seats nail .Head features claw for nail removal. The axe end features a 4,5,and 6 inch gauge for tab exposure and a sliding Matt knife blade for scoring/ cutting asphalt shingles. The blade is narrow enough to split cedar shakes. Ithe handle is varnished and one might wrap it with “ vet wrap” for a non slip grip and or install a loop of paracord to slip over the wristSo not to have it slide off a steep pitched roof if layed down. The head is heavy and though it resembles a throwing axeThe balance is off 🤣! Well made tool.

I also seem to hit my thumb at least once during a roofing project. That won't be a problem with this hammer. This hammer holds a nail tightly so it can be driven in easily. The utility knife on the hammer is a great time saver. One tool can be used to cut shingles and to nail them. I just need to find a good belt holder for this hammer. I have an air nailer that I use for most shingles. A hammer is still needed for some work. It would be great to be able to attach this hammer to a belt. Overall I am happy with this hammer. It will be very useful.

This hammer has features that most do not that make installing shingles and other roofing very much easier. The hammer could be sturdier with a fiber or metal handle but so far the wooden handle has not failed. Shingle spacing can be determined with the hammers using the measurement marks and then hammer the nail in, it can be used to lift a shingle without damage so replacement of individual shingles is made easier. great hammer with many features.

This is a very cheap feeling hammer. The magnet on the face of the hammer does not hold nails very well at all. It's more aggravation than it's worth trying to use it. The blade holder on the back is also very janky. It's hard to get the blade lined up and locked into place. I think your money is better spent elsewhere.
