Can't be used by wet on wet watercolor painters. Soaks up water like a sponge. Extremely hard to use. But, I suppose if you don't use washes, it might be OK, but barely. At its price, buying Arches or Fabriano would be a better choice.

Most of my artwork is watercolor but I also like to work in colored pencil and ink. I ordered this paper so I could possible use pencil and watercolor together because it was 100% cotton and 140 lb weight. It has a slightly rough surface, comparable to most good watercolor paper. The pencil worked very well but I felt the watercolor did not seem to flow or blend well. When mixing color in a wet in wet process the paints seemed a little stubborn to blend layers and not as good as I am used to with watercolor paper only. If you are using anything but watercolor I think it is an excellent product but I would stay with specialized paper for your watercolor work.

This is 140 pound watercolor paper, which can be used for mixed media such as when combining collage with paint and ink or watercolor pencil. I wanted to try this because it is a longtime business located in Italy. I wanted to try this because it was 100% cotton. I was looking for a high-quality product and this is high-quality. This acts as typical 140 pound paper acts with watercolor. I like the absorption of the cotton. Water does not puddle. To try this out, I used watercolor pencil applied dry on the paper first and then applied water. Then, with the paper wet, I used the watercolor pencils on top of the first layer to make marks. There was no pilling. There was no falling apart of the paper. This is a nice strong paper. This is a pad, not a block. I love this paper. I am happy to support a longtime business in Italy that is trustworthy rather than taking a chance on products made by a not-known-brand company. Quality products cost more, and I am fine with that.

This is a great quality paper for water color painting, it absorbs the paints very well and is so smooth to paint on. It's definitely worth purchasing.

This paper is a good weight, not super heavy, but sturdy. As advertised it is very white so colors look good. It has some texture, but not a lot. I used pen, watercolor pencil, acrylic and alcohol markers, acrylic paint and watercolor on a small square I cut from a page. None of them bled through to the back, each went on smoothly. I did not do any wet on wet or even extensive wet areas so can’t speak to possible warping. This is a good paper, but too expensive for everyday.

This pad is a pretty large size and comes with 20 sheets for you to use whatever media you like. Feels strong and good quality.

Pages are nice and heavy duty. My daughter loves creating artwork, so this is perfect for her. Great quality.

I divided this pad in half with washi tape. On the top section, I painted an ink-and-wash watercolor painting. On the bottom, I used professional gouache. The ink, a permanent black marker, drew perfectly on the pad and did not go through to the next piece of paper. I used a light touch of watercolor paint. I did not use the wet-on-wet technique. Instead, I used mostly dry brushing to place the selected watercolor on the paper. On the bottom, I did an abstract gouache painting and a layer of watered-down paint on the mixed media pad. Both the watercolor and gouache paints had a pleasant appearance on the pad. When the pad had dried, the paper’s corners lifted and warped a great deal with the gouache and watercolor. Considering the cost of this paper, I would expect it to be similar to a top-tier paper. At the high cost of this paper, I would not expect it to warp when it dried. I want my resulting piece of artwork to lay flat and be easily put in a portfolio.
