We have two black ones, side by side, b/c we use them All the time! Heat coffee, tea; reheat food; cook veggies; make popcorn; defrost; melt cheese, butter, coconut oil; etc. Magic Chef microwave DOES do 30 second increments; just push power button for 30 seconds or add 30 seconds to your 2 minutes, etc. by pushing power button again after it starts!Somebody asked if you could mute the beeps.... YES! Owner's manual p.17 item #14 says to press & hold 8 for three seconds... it will beep & "off" will display! To deactivate mute, do the same thing again & "on" will display! (Other stuff I didn't realize it does includes ECO function!)

I purchased this as a gift for friends. They needed something that wouldn't take up much room and this seemed perfect ! It IS !However. It does say it has a childproof door. That's a great idea, but sometimes the adult has the technical ability of that child. She couldn't figure out how to get the door open. No handle. To top it off, there was no manual, even though it said it came with one. She called Magic Chef about it and they passed her off to someone that handled manuals...who wanted to SELL her one ! Nope..So anyhow, after screwing round with it for a day, she finally figured out how to open the door ! Yay ! Any guesses what was inside ? Yep. the manual. Perfect place for it ! So anyhow, it looks like the quality of the microwave is good and deserves a 5 Star. But I give it a 4 for the stupidity of putting the manual inside. Duh.

This took the place of a very large 22 yr old microwave. Gives me more room on the counter. I would make sure to check the size of your dinner plates before purchasing.

Bought this for my mom, she had an older version of it and wore it out. She was concerned when she received it because with packaging it looked larger than it was. Once she opened it she realized it was like the one she had previously. Mom has been very happy with it and loves the quick settings for 1min to 6min it makes it so easy for her to heat things up.
