I've not been climbing long but I have pretty sweaty hands and I've noticed how much of an impact chalk has on my climb. So much that even as a beginner, it's hard enough developing strength but slipping on holds creates an increased risk for injury, through less controlled falls off the wall. With this chalk, I can climb until I hit my muscle limit wherever I am in my climb. Is my drive home difficult. Yes. But I at least I know I pushed as far as I could and I can really get stronger.
