This was purchased to replace a Honeywell M847DM847D1004. First thing I will say is that it is compatible and it does work. That said however, the set screw on this replacement unit is absolutely tiny compared to the original. I have little faith in it gripping consistently over time. Also there are no manual adjustments available so the unit opens as far as it is set to and that's that.Overall while it is functional, I wish I'd have spent the extra on an actual Honeywell replacement, and if this ever fails I certainly will do so in the future.

I have a 15+ year old Honeywell zone system splitting my house into two zones. I have nursed my original Honeywell damper actuators along over the years with various repairs, so it's nice to finally have a brand new replacement unit. My initial impression is that It seems at least as well made as the originals, and functions well. Time will tell, but I am optimistic.

The description states this part fits a 5/16” diameter damper shaft. However, the brass sleeve diameter was about 1/32” too small based on measurement and the fact that it would not slide onto the 5/16” shaft. I had to put it on the drill press to bore out the sleeve to 5/16”. The description also provides a “tip” to reuse the original (longer) set screw. However, the threads on this damper actuator were slightly too small for the original set screw so I had to gently cut new threads for the original set screw to fit. After modifying this exact fit replacement for M847D1004, it seems to work well.

With a bit of work, it got the job done. The pin that prevents the device from rotating is slightly larger than the original Honeywell pin. I had to drill out the mounting hole slightly to get it to fit properly. Then, on my install at least, the mounting hole was upside down. The screw on the original was on the underside, and here it's on the top. with enough torque, I was able to get the screw to embed into the shaft, and it's working. But it wasn't an easy drop-in replacement.
