Product Description

Thraed Tap

Cutting Direction: Right Hand.

Material: Alloy Tool Steel.

Straight Flute Thread Hand Taps Straight flute design, used for through hole and shallow blind hole tapping, not for blind hole tapping.

Tips

  1. Before tapping confirm whether the diameter of the round hole is appropriate, and to take protective measures when working.
  2. When tapping, it is necessary to add water or coolant to cool down to prevent excessive temperature and reduce tap loss. If it encounters difficulty in rotation, the tapping should be suspended.
  3. Be sure to select the appropriate cutting oil for the complex tapping process and apply anti-rust oil for maintenance after use.

Works great! My only gripe is that the shank is really small. Half the size of my snap-on. Which made finding something to help turn it pretty difficult. Ended up using an adjustable wrench. I used the tap to chase some threads on my intake manifold so it’s not like I was making new holes.I recommend the seller linking a tool with these taps to turn them. For the money spent on these it’s a no brainer to give them a try. They worked well for me with cast aluminum.***In my photo the broken tap is the SNAP-ON tap. I put them next to each other for size reference of the SHANK.***MY TAP FROM THIS REVIEW DID NOT BREAK. That’s the one I replaced with these!

I was a bit concerned about this little specialty tap due to price and country of origin. I was wonderfully surprised. First use was threading a small part made from 304 SS. Cut through it like butter. Great little tap. I haven't used it alot yet (other than in Delrin) so I'm not sure how long it will last, but out of the gate I'm really pleased.

I needed to tap some tiny 2mm holes for my RC cars. These worked perfectly. Good value, size correct. Good overall experience. Thank you!

Need to tap a hole? Look no further than this fine and dandy item. Yes, you too could be cutting a grove that any machinist would be proud to call his own. Don’t have a hole to tap? don’t despair, you could use this as a really fancy corkscrew. Just drill a hole into a cork, tap out threads with this handy tool, insert the proper bolt, grip with a vice grip, and voila, you can pull out the cork with greater confidence and aplomb than the most snooty sommelier.

worked as expected. The picture led to think that one of these was a bottoming tap, but they were both the same. They worked well for what I needed.

Used to tap the factory inserts of my F150 as it was designed for a track system. Tapped them and purchased on Amazon Eye bolts to use a tie down points in the bed.

These two taps cost less than $3 and include a standard tap as well as a bottoming tap, both are very nice quality. Very sharp and easy to use.
