Tips:
1.Appropriate addition of coolant (e.g., water) can extend the service life when tapping.
2. Please control speed according to material hardness. The higher the hardness, the slower the speed. Fast speed with small torque; slow speed with high torque. The force must be uniform in tapping operations.
3. First drill the hole with twist drill, and then use the taps tapping. Tapping angle should be vertical 90 degree and keep stable.
4. Tapping depth should not exceed 1.5 times the diameter of the tap: For example: diameter of M6x1 about 6mm, the depth should not exceed 9mm.

I buy cheap taps and dies all the time. I have a small machining business and they usually work great.What I have learned is to only buy the ones that are bright steel. If you see any brown color, rust, coating, whatever on the threads, they're usually junk and not sharp.This die had to be forced on pretty hard to get it to start cutting. I thought all was doing well until I backed out and saw that it had stripped all the threads off. See the pic.I buy from the pictures and they're usually honest. This was a bait and switch and these are going back.

Needed it for a rusted fitting, rust was too much, rotted solid. But, I also used this for other projects since; happy with results! I even tap and die-d some pine. I’ll keep these.

Got these as a “back-up” to clean-up some threads in an aluminum head. Turns out these were perfect to clean and cut the threads back to OEM specs. Instead of “back-up” tool, this was the one that came through.

Used this tap to clean out the rusted bolt holes on the frame of our vehicle during the install of a trailer receiver hitch. Worked great! Couldn't get the bolts installed without using this to clean out the corrosion first.

The die was not M12 x1 but a much coarser thread so useless for my purpose. The taps were correct.The seller responded fast to my review and is sending me the right die and a gift. They also informed me to keep the wrong set. Good after sales service.
