There might not be enough room in the nut for more than two or three turns of the screw. I compared these nuts to nuts from a brand name manufacturer I bought at a big box store, and those nuts had room for more turns in the "acorn"--those nuts were also corresponding taller than these nuts, which explains the extra room for more turns of the screw.

I needed to replace 2 M8 -1.25 locknuts that were exposing the bolt threads and causing a cut hazard. These 304 SS acorn cap nuts were the perfect solution as this was for an outdoor application. The safety hazard has been remedied and I am very happy with the results.

I used these acorn hex nuts on a small mount for a shelf in my grill area...they are stainless and oxidized to stand up to weather. The threads were all good and the nuts look very professional. I believe they are of very good quality overall.

These nuts are smooth and precisely made. The black finish is properly applied. No issues at all with the quality. Stainless steel is a superior material so that would explain the higher price of $.63 each (when purchasing fifteen).Very pleasing product. A five star product on quality but I rate it overall four stars because I'd like to see a better value than 63 cents per nut. Value generally does play into my product ratings.

These acorn nuts are not light at heart. They are made very well and their finish is pristine. If you look close at the threaded portion pictured, you'll see the coating goes inside a little ways. When things are mass produced, a lot of times this sort of detail is overlooked. I highly recommend these due to their high-quality. I hope this was helpful. Thank you.
