I'm a bit of a 1/4-20 snob when it comes to my on hand hardware and this is my most used and stocked size. So these acorn nuts are perfect for those times that the end will be exposed to the user and want to ensure a gentle experience

This review is for 5/16-18 Stainless Steel Acorn Cap Nuts, 25pk, at a price of $9.99.These acorn nuts appear to be high quality, with a thick cap, polished to a mirror finish and smooth, tight threads. The maximum bolt depth for these appear to be slightly more than 5/16", and the hex width appears to be between .555" and .557", which would comfortably fit a 9/16" wrench or socket.Overall, these look great and appear to be very well made, and they will make a great addition to future projects.

1/4-20 nuts can be often found at your local hardware store on the cheap, but if you're looking for something a bit more stealth-like, black ones are slightly harder to find. These black stainless steel ones are perfect for camera applications that use a standard 1/4-20 imperial thread, such as for a tripod or GoPro/Insta360 mount, especially where you want to hide/protect any exposed screw threads. As in my photo, I've used mine on a action camera mount for my bike to both protect the exposed threads and eliminate rattling from the rotating ring, and it works just fine. No complaints, it does what it is supposed to and at a decent price. 5/5 stars for functionality.

Furniture grade hardware to cover up ugly threads. I used them to protect the ends of a few bolts that are sticking out under a work bench. Works great. It's not something I would use on a machine, a car, or anything that requires certain specs, but the fitment is good and they are well made. Five stars from me.

I wanted to have a box of these handy for a vintage van that has several bolts I wanted to finish off in a nicer way. These did the job, but now I realize I also need some 3/8" ones! I lije tgat stainless steel nuts will stay shiny and won't end up rusty!

If you examine the photos carefully, you'll note these are a bit deeper than a regular acorn nut (at least in my experience). On the bright side, they offer more penetration and therefore a bit more of 'fudge-factor' when it comes to bolt length, but it may impact the finished aesthetic of your project. The black finish looks uniformly nice on all the pieces.

These M6-1.0 acorn nuts worked perfectly with some M6-1.0 threaded rod. They also appear to actually be stainless as they feel like steel but a magnet does not stick to them. Unfortunately, when I performed the scratch test, the coating scraped off just like paint and thus am deducting a star. A zinc coating should be similar to black oxide or anodizing where yes, it will scratch with some effort but in this case, its trivial to scrape it off. In addition it appears to be a bit thin and glossy so it sort of looks like it only has a single coat.Overall, if the coating doesn't matter, the nuts themselves do appear to be a good quality stainless and the coating likely will last since the underlying metal won't be corroding.
