Perfect enclosure for my M.2 portable drives. This thing works perfectly and it's reasonably priced. I have no complaints and the transfer speeds are great. It depends on the drive, but it works great with all the drives I have used it for. Keeps drives cool and it comes with hardware needed. Great buy.

Easy to use. Works as expected. Didn’t test speeds or anything but it’s fine for the price.

I purchased this NVMe external enclosure to clone and backup drives. It comes with a thermal pad, bunch of M.2 screws, USB C to USB C cable, USB C to USB A cable. I used it several times by now and it works very well! Superb speeds (USB 3.2 gen 2). The included cables are thick and truly 10Gbps high-quality cables. It's a very handy item to have around, especially if you're a PC enthusiast.

I used this to both look at files on an old M.2 NVMe SSD, and initialize a new M.2 NVMe on one computer which doesn't have a way to interface with M.2 NVMe to later install it into a different computer that does. They were both 2280 size. This external housing works just like the M.2 NVMe slot on a motherboard; Insert at a 30o angle, then push the end down flush. It came with 2 short cables for USB Type-A and Type-C connection options. Nice, cold, aluminum housing.Excellent quality and function for the price.

This enclosure gets the job done. However, the description is misleading as the read speeds are fast but the write speeds are slow. The "10 GBPS" it the read speed not the write speed. The write speed is around a few to a couple hundred mbps. I have a powerful pc and I used a samsung type-c cable that is capable of fast charging my z-fold phone and sending gbps data when connected directly to my motherboard. That was not the case for this enclosure. It also doesn't do a good job at dissipating the heat from a long write which I think is important to know. I had to keep the enclosure open during a clone to ensure everything was safe.Overall, this enclosure is good when you really just need something to clone your m.2 drive and your motherboard only has one slot or to store your extra m.2 as an external drive. It reads data fast, and comes in handy when you are on a budget. However, the write speeds are bad, really bad, and the potential for overheating is high (which might just be inherent of these types of designs so I wouldn't blame this particular vendor). The cables that it comes with aren't much to be proud of either, but hey, you get what you paid for which us why O rate thos 4 stars. Hope this helps others when making a decision.

Using as external storage for a 500gb M.2 SSD I replaced in my new laptop. Tried another brand at the same price point (smooth thin case), but that one got EXTREMELY HOT, and required tools to use... This one, requires no tools, didn't even need the rubber retainers other people have complained about for my particular SSD, it just clips in. It gets warm (as expected) but not too hot to touch like the other, and seems to be built better with a solid aluminum case & cooling fins top & bottom.Would recommend this if you are looking for an economy case for an extra drive.

I recently had my 1-1/2 yr old KAMRUI GK3 Pro Mini PC rendered useless by a Win11 upgrade that won't initialize the drivers for USB & BT at startup so I can't use a Keyboard or mouse to navigate & restore or repair it. I had to buy a new PC & thought I'd lost all my work. I bought a new GMK Tec mini PC and removed the HD from the old GK3 & with this adapter I was able to transfer all my data from the old Mini PC to the new, easily & flawlessly. As a bonus, I can now format the old SSD SATA drive and use it as a backup drive for my new system so it won't be a complete waste. .... Very pleased :)😌

Speeds are as expected, and performance is good. Fortunately most modern NVME SSDs can operate up in the 85-90 C range. Just don't touch the case and you won't get burned.I also purchased a similar item that included a "fan" (vibrating ultrasonic membrane), and it barely gets warm.Update: This product failed after two months of light use, possibly because of overheating. Fortunately, the NVMe SSD that was inside is still okay. Support from V VCOM was initially difficult to reach, but their support was excellent once I was in contact with them. They shipped me a replacement unit quickly.

One of the big lessons is to pay attention to the product specifications. Some enclosures say SATA compatible, but they're really not. This one is but you have to read the model number to make sure that you're getting what you asked for. This enclosure is fairly simple and has some unique qualities about it in that you don't fuss around with a whole bunch of those itty-bitty screws that you're going to drop on the carpet and that you find impossible to replace unless you buy a whole pack of them. The case simply opens with slight pressure and you install your device from there. Here's the thing… I was installing a WD blue SATA M.2 that I'm using for an external backup drive. The M.2 device had to be installed "upside down" with the blue label on the downside and the circuits on the upside because of the way that the M.2 pins are installed. That is not a showstopper but it's just odd. It all worked and I transferred some mega files and tested the speed on Crystal disc and it came out about 560 MBs which is just about right for a M.2 SATA drive. By the way, I used the SATA M.2 device because with a SATA port, they're only going to get just so much speed anyway; a fast M.2 is only going to run at the speed of the port anyway so why put an expensive M.2 in an enclosure as an external drive. It all worked! It did not take me long time and I transferred some big files, about 30 GB in a few minutes and so I'm happy with the purchase. Again, read the product specifications because if the enclosure does not support a SATA device, you going to have trouble initializing the drive and using disk partition software is not going to help, so just read instructions.
