- For an new SSD, You need to go into the disk management and initialize the SSD firstly, then it could be detected and used normally. Please finish disk initialization according to the following steps.

(Review of SOKIWI NVMe M.2 Duplicator Dual-Bay Offline Clone Tool-Free, 10Gbps NVMe Docking Station with Cooling Fan,NVMe M.2 SSD Enclosure for NVMe PCIe Size 2230/2242/2260/2280(up to 8TB))I purchased this to clone the original 250GB SDD in my Dell laptop - full to the brim mostly with Win11 bloatware - to a new 1TB drive. The process, start-to-finish took about 90 minutes, including using it as an external enclosure for the new drive while I used Gparted on a Linux box to rearrange partitions so I could make full use of the new space as a contiguous drive. The offline cloning took perhaps 10 minutes.If I have to scratch for nits, the labelling of indicators, switches, etc. could be more readable, and the rubber NVME retainers are a bit fiddly to insert. While the included documentation is best described as "spartan," it was sufficient to my needs: While the procedure it describes for using Windows to extend a cloned partition to make all space on a larger target drive available didn't work for me under Win10 -- I didn't waste a lot of time on it, just used Linux.I would love to say that I'd buy it again, but I've already bought it and don't expect to need an extra. (If I lost this one, yes I'd buy another!)

What can I say about this product...it works as advertised. This particular device (I bought 2) work out of the box. I can see my PCIe M.2 drive, and it communicates with my computer at USB 3.2 Gen 2 (10 Gbps) speed. It does have an inactivity power save mode that you can't control, so if you're going to use it for something like a Tablo tuner (for DVR storage), then this device won't work well for it. But if you are using it for file transfers, boot devices, and backups then this device works perfectly for it.

This item was perfect for cloning my M2 2230 SSDs for Steam Deck. I got the target SSD straight out of brand new packaging and it had no issues recognizing it, and the process was very simple and straightforward. Definitely recommend it!

I spent about a month trying to clone my Western Digital 8TB SSD without success. I tried multiple software options, including Acronis, AOMEI Partition Assistant, and AOMEI Backupper, but none of them worked—the SSD just wouldn't boot properly. They would not copy the Master Boot Record correctly. I tried fixing the OS but Win11 could not. Out of frustration, I decided to try this Sokiwi Offline Model: SKUD1001 which can handle up to 8TB, and it was a game-changer. I cloned it offline and it worked Perfectly! After installing it into the PCIe NVMe slot on my motherboard, the SSD booted up right away without any issues. This product saved me so much time and hassle. Highly recommend it to anyone struggling with cloning large SSDs!

I spent hours trying to get this thing to work consistently duplication 500GB M2 drives and it will sometimes complete successfully, ending with an audible beep and sometimes get to the end and all the lights blink with no audible beep, which means it failed to copy. It takes about 18 to 20 minutes to copy and 500 GB M2 drive. It's REALLY frustrating and a waste of time. This thing also gets crazy hot, I mean cook an egg on it hot. The fan that comes with it is a joke, doesn't even cool it. I had to leave the cover off and put my own high-powered fan blowing on it to keep it somewhat cool while working. I'm going to warn you, this thing is NOT worth the money and is NOT a stable product. You've been warning.

I needed to duplicate two 512 GB PCIe Gen 3x4 2280 SSDs as backups for two of my critical PCs. I tried a couple other duplicators, but they didn't work with this particular flavor of SSD, even though they said they would. This one, on the other hand, works exactly as advertised. It made perfect duplicates of my Windows 11 OS, apps and data. I took one star away because of the silly little rubber pegs one has to use to secure the drive in the holder. There has to be a better way. Aside from this minor distraction, this docking station is well designed, functions nicely, and is easy to use.

I upgraded my laptop storage. easy to use and you don't need to use a computer, only press a button and it perfectly copies the old deviceI took the 1tb M.2 out of the computer, put it in the duplicator with the new 4tb M.2. Once the copy process was complete, I placed the new 4tb M.2 in the computer and it started with all of my stuff as if it were the old one.No issues.

Updated Review:Sokiwi customer service was excellent. I initially received a defective unit as noted in my original review below. They got back to me, and were quick, friendly and no hassle. They sent a new unit out the same day of contact and happy to report no issues and working well. I originally gave one-star, but upgrading to 4 star due to the excellent service.Original Review:The sokiwi "M.2 NVMe and SATA SSD Enclosure" is a dud. While it initially worked when it was first setup, it managed to die by the time I actually needed to use it.How did it die? It simply became un-addressable when connected. The drive couldn't be accessed across multiple computers and with multiple USB cables. The drive inside was fine: it was removed and worked on another machine no problem. It could just be a bad specific unit, or it could be an across the board problem, YMMV.

I needed something to pull data off an NVME drive. I now use this as a daily driver.It was very easy to install the NVME into the enclosure. High speed USB Cable is also included in the package.I love this item because it is very sleek and portable. I am able to swap out NVME drives easily and have more versatility in accessing my files.Definitely buy this! You could save money by using your own NVMEs as an External Hard drive instead of purchasing one separately.

This sleek little M.2 NVMe/NGFF enclosure is well-made and functioned as advertised.I used this plug-and-play enclosure to clone between a small, old SATA SSD and a new, larger Samsung NVMe SSD for my laptop's operating system (which is complemented by a separate 1TB data drive, but wasn't transferable!), and the process took less than 20 minutes.My laptop didn't immediately recognize the enclosure device once it was plugged in, but all I had to do was download and run the new SSD's migration software and both SSDs were then recognized without issue. There was no overheating during the cloning process.I now have my old SSD housed in the enclosure, and can keep it as a bootable back-up should the need ever arise.My laptop's opsys is running happily once again, after being hobbled by a lack of space. Happy computer, happy customer!

We bought this because the new computer had just a m.2 NVMe drive in it and it was too small, so using this and MiniTool Partition Wizard I was able to copy the NVMe M.2 to another drive and then swap the new NVMe M.2 and copy the same drive to the new drive, installed into the new PC and turned it on, the computer responded as though it was the old drive but bigger and initaiated the Windows experience like a brand new computer perfectly.

It works exactly as advertised, easy to use and completely tool free. I used it to clone a larger M2.NVME drive for my laptop, and am using the enclosure for the old drive that I replaced for extra storage. It is sleek, looks good, and works well enough for my needs.
