Two actually. Great setup for the price!

Works as expected.. I suppose. Be sure to keep the rig well protected at all times. I bumped into a few rocks while wading then it all fell apart. Brought it back to the shop, spent a few sessions trying to fix it then tossed it. You get what pay for type-thing? Yet, I've purchased much cheaper reels which lasted much longer and endured far more than this trash rig. I wouldn't recommend to a friend. Poorly made.

The best reel under $50 period! The best reel under $100 bucks Period. The best reel under $150 period! Great detailed workmanship. Precision drag, smoooooth. I use this reel for bass and trout. I own 5-8 wt Tino reels, at least 10 total. Can’t beat the price or the durability. Try one, you can’t afford not to.

I would suggest cutting off 15-20 feet of fly line off the back end. It's a tad overstocked and will catch, reconnect backing to cut running line with a nail knot. Otherwise the line will drag against the inner rim of the reel. Maxcatch uses 100ft lines instead of 80.Afterwards It's fantastic in general. Lined with 7wt line and casts nicely. The line itself has a softer pvc shell than other my typical store brands (rio, scientific anglers). Being generous with nail knot loops will prevent it from cutting through the shell and having you start over. The backing bled a bit of dye into the fly line. However, if you've got the line at that distance, it hardly matters. Drag is consistent, consistent in pressure with knob twists (unlike some other lower end internationally imported models) and does a fantastic job overall. A overseas knockoff of a cheeky tyro with less than a fifth of the cost.Recommend highly, 5/5 if it weren't taking into consideration the line being involved. That can be replaced and will be over time. The reel itself is amazing.

This is just a snap review after I received the reel. If my impressions change once I've done more than cast it in my back yard, I'll update the review. (This is for the loaded, black 3/4 weight).Overall, it looks and functions like a $100 reel you'd get at Cabela's. Machining isn't perfect, but it's not bad. No sharp edges, no obvious machining marks, but there's a few radii that aren't perfect. Frame seems to be powdercoated, the spool seems anodized (I could be wrong, but that's the impression I get from the finish).Drag is smooth, but it's sensitive. Feels like 360* on the drag wheel increases the drag about 10 lbs.Line is passable. I can't tell if it's 3 or 4 weight line, but it feels like 4 weight. Comes with a leader, seems about like a 5x. It's enough to get you on the water.Worth 5 stars for the price. Like I mentioned, this would probably be $100 at Cabelas.

Overall, this reel both feels and performs like a reel that should've cost twice as much. Overall, a fairly impressive value. My only major gripe is the line/backing capacity. I spooled this up originally with Cortland 8wt Big Fly line, an admittedly robust line with a pretty aggressive taper. Ended up having to remove all but maybe 15 feet of backing to make the line fit, which is workable temporarily, but not ideal over the long term. Bottom line: I would recommend sticking with smaller diameter 7wt lines for this reel as the spool capacity is too limited to step up to 8wt and keep a reasonable amount of backing.

Really didn’t expect much. 36 buck fly reel? CNC CUT? well got it today to put on an 30 year old fly rod and wow is this reel amazing. Feels amazing, looks amazing. Drag seams silky smooth. I don’t understand blowing 300+ on a fly reel unless your battling giant steelhead and salmon. This does the job for any trout fishing your doing.Trust me

Finish isn't perfect, a few very minor imperfections in the black finish you can't see from one foot away..lol, but over all a very nice looking well built, smooth solid reel. I noticed a rubber O ring on the shaft drag area the spool fits over and looks like it might have some protection against the elements. For such an inexpensive reel, the quality is quite good, so much so I ordered another 5/6 weight, they're both going on the outstanding Maxcatch Premiere rods, can't wait to wet the lines.Edit: The 5/6 arrived and is perfect finish unlike the 7/8 but considering the price, no biggy..nice reels
