I bought this pole to start a career in Production Sound; for the price, I got a decent pole for beginners that didn't break the bank. However, I began noticing problems the more I used it. For one, the internal cable would twist and coil inside, making it difficult to extend the pole, especially for sudden takes. Later on, the more I used it, the knuckles would get stuck, making it more difficult to use. Eventually, the product broke altogether. Like the title suggests: good for beginners, not meant to last.

I bough those mic poles a few months ago for my classes. The delivery was in time but one of the 2 items was damaged during transport. I send a message to the customer service and, right on, they were in "search of a solution" mode from the start. They replace the defective unit with ease, sending me and responding to my emails during the short procedure. The remplacement unit arrived shortly after that, in all operationnal status. When I'll need other mic poles, LyxPro will be my first choice!Thank again to all the team, especially Eric!

This boom pole is as good as any. No need to buy the expensive ones when you can buy this one.

This is exactly what I was looking for. It is lightweight but sturdy and easy to use. The built-in cord works perfectly to keep everything neat and simple. The quick extension and folding with just a few movements makes this the perfect recommendation for mix booms.

I was thrilled when I originally received this product. I love the integrated XLR and the quality of the pole for the price feels very nice, and is a great entry point for a beginner. However I'm sad to say that after maybe four shoots this thing has already broken on me. The top extension busted right out, and now just swivels back and forth. I was able to salvage it on the shoot I was on by wrapping it in gaff tape, but it rendered one of my entire extension points gone and looks mighty unprofessional. Anyway if you're literally looking to just practice or need a cheap entry point, you could certainly roll the dice on this product and maybe get your money's worth out of it, but I'll be looking for a sturdier option for future shoots.

Fell apart on my second use. I really wish I would have read the reviews closer. I have been doing video work for several years but I am somewhat new to audio. I figured "How bad can it be?" and bought this POS. Its not so much the waste of money spent on this thing that irritates me but the fact that when I go out on a shoot I expect things to work at least to some level. The extender release fell off inside of the pole, the pole falls apart unless you hold it together, also the sound is 100% unusable if using the xlr attached to it. There's an incredibly loud hum. I am currently using it until I find a replacement, but I may as well just be using a branch off a tree since they have about the same functionality. Except maybe the tree branch wouldn't be as embarrassing to bring to a shoot.

Great boom pole. I actually went to B&H not that long ago and looked at some poles they had there and felt like I got a great deal on this one. Great balance between price and weight. The fact that you can run a cable up the center is cool. However if you want to run an XLR up the pole you're gonna have to cut the wire and solder it after you've run it through. Really shouldn't be too bad of a job though. Even without running a cable up the pole (which I personally didn't do) it is a great pole. Durable too.The only complaint I have is that the locks can sometimes come undone without you realizing it. Make sure you turn them fairly tight and check all the sections of the pole before you use it.Light, doesn't bend, durable, low price, locking system for extending the pole is quick and easy, but sometimes a little tricky. Would reccomend to anyone who needs a Pole for less than $300

Un vrai casse-tête pour dévisser l’embout afin d'y faire passer le câble XLR ou mini-jack.Mais bon, un fois cette épreuve franchie, cette perche assez longe (+/- 2 m) rempli parfaitement son rôle.

This is a pretty good boom. For it's price, it's about what you'd expect. I've used it once so far for a 16 hour shoot.Pros - Lightweight. Like really light for a boom of this length. It seems nice and sturdy so far. The tightening rings for each section feel like light plastic, but they do the job, securing the sections firmly. It has a hollow body and an exit hole on both ends. Not big enough for a XLR or even an 1/4" jack to fit through, but you you could build a cable into it, which I intend on doing.Cons - It rattles a tiny miniscule amount. If you're booming multiple people, or have to move while you're booming, you might get a bit of sound. I noticed it using a Seinheiser mic and a Zoom H6 about mid gain. While going through my mix I can occasionally hear the rattle of the joints. (Yes, my mic cord was firmly secured with gaff tape.) You can feel it while you're booming. It has a tiny bit of give in each joint, especially if fully extended. It saved my back, a nice long, light boom pole of sturdy construction. It just might not work for me long run if I can't figure out how to minimize the rattle.

This boom pole does exactly what it is supposed to do. The sections tighten off easily, it's sturdy and feels very solid without being to heavy, and it can also take a beating as it gets tossed around in and out of cases. It's plenty long at over 9 feet, and even when extended it seems to be very sturdy. I usually use it in a holder on a stand, and besides coming with a cable threaded through it already, I'm not sure if I could thing of anything I would want changed.I know that you are supposed to be able to run a cord through it, but I haven't tried or had the need for it. I know that you can spend hundreds on a boom pole, but for about $90 I would definitely make the choice to purchase this one.
