I had higher hopes for this microphone since it looks like a clone of a name brand microphone. But I was severely disappointed in the performance. I had intended to keep this microphone and an old phone in my car for when ideas for videos hit me and I could make a video quickly. I tried using it with my Samsung Galaxy Note 9 since I thought that the directionality of the shotgun would help with isolating my voice in noisier environments, but unfortunately, it ended up picking up more surrounding sounds than the built-in microphone. I also tried using it on a DSLR since it is so much more compact, but it was just too noisy for me and picked up too much surrounding noise as well.

Microphone does not attach to the included holder so it's pretty useless. There is no screw on bottom of Microphone to screw it into hole on holder SMH it's two holes. Waste of money but luckily it was cheap. Throwing in trash.

I ordered this Universal Shotgun Microphone Vlogging Kit by Acuvar, which came with a Smartphone Mount and a 3.5mm Plug Cable for Smartphones, DSLRs & Cameras, for my Teenager Nephew, who likes to record Videos. While following the Instructions Manual, setting up the Microphone and Mount onto my Samsung Smartphone was easy. The Sound during a Video Recording was nice and louder than without the Microphone. Overall, I like this Microphone Vlogging Kit. It’s a perfect Starter Kit for Somebody who is just starting their Journey in Social Media, such as YouTube and TikTok.

This Microphone looks like professional equipment but don't let the looks fool you the microphone built into my phone does a much better job than this thing does. I don't even have an expensive phone, it's a Moto G8 plus, which is a budget phone. The whole point of a shotgun Microphone is to be able to pick up sounds from a specific direction and keep sounds that are coming from other directions to a minimum. This Microphone picks up sounds from all directions the same as any cheap omnidirectional Microphone does. If that wasn't bad enough the sound quality is mediocre on top of it. The only reason I gave this 2 stars is that the clamp for mounting it to your phone is actually very nice and works well.

Haven't had to much time to test this in practice. but I did test it out a bit. I think it works very well and way better then. the mic on cell phone. especially outside.I would still use a lavalier microphone just in case. But this is great quick little add on to cell phone (or camera). to record something that sounds more professional.Be careful with the plug in, to use this on my phone I had to get a converter cause the new iPhone doesn't have a headphone jack. but at the price you get pretty good sound. if you want something better you'd probably be spending alot more. But it all depend on your budget and what you need the mic for.do plan on getting more attention if recording in public with one of these. I think people are used to cell phones and cameras recording everywhere. But you add a few accessories and people will all the sudden be interested in what you're doing. and even bug you asking questions.
