This was an easy install for us and seems to be made very well. It has made using our attick space so much more convenient. Now we can hide all the junk. ;)

When I bought this item, I was torn between the aluminum or wooden frame. I'm glad I chose the aluminum. It was definitely lighter and made installation easier. I had installed several attic ladders before, all wooden. It seemed like the aluminum frame was easier to shift around and keep squared for mounting. I would not hesitate to buy another one.

Installed easily and very sturdy, especially since I weigh 250 lbs.

All the negative reviews need to do research and read the description. It mentions 22.5" x 54" ROUGH opening. My joist are actually 22.5" apart (inside) so it was real easy to install. It gave me about a 1/2" all around for shimming. Once squared and screws attached, the only adjustment was to cut the ladder to fit the height and pitch. The only con is that the ladder is attached to particle board witch is no big deal. I installed this by myself but it would be easier if there was another helping hand .

Great value and easy to install. If you are replacing an existing attic ladder make sure you check the dimensions. This one fit perfectly where the existing one use to be with a few shims.

It took a while to get it perfect. I have an old house so my floors slope. I had to cut the legs at different lengths and it was just a pain getting everything perfect, but it worked out in the end. The face of it is definitely not a durable material. You could break it very easily. But overall, it works fine.
