Having recently purchased a Ford truck that takes the FL820S filter, I needed to buy a filter cap wrench to make taking the filters off a whole lot easier. I was surprised by how difficult it actually was to find a straight answer on what cap wrenches fit and which don't.Seems the "old 820S filter" was a 93mm/36-flute design, also known as "Style D." Read lots of reviews on D-style, 93mm filter cap wrenches and no two reviews seemed to agree with each other whether or not that particular product worked for the 820S filter.Took a chance on this one and made sure to also buy the Motorcraft 820S filters that reviewers had labeled as "15-flute." The filters and this wrench both came today and the cap wrench fits perfectly. There is the slightest bit of wiggle back and forth once seated on the filter, maybe a 16th of an inch. But not enough that I think it will slip during use.

Good quality and fits tight. Wish the boss was thicker for the stubborn filters but it’s good enough. Fits the ford FL-820s with the new flute count.

dont be a fool and go by the fuel/oil filter dimensions posted by the manufacturer, actually measure the filter yourself as i bought this for my kia ceeds fuel filter to remove it as it was torqued down by Thor, this item was useless in my case as it's oversized by 12mm, however if i ever find a use for it im sure it will work just as well as the correctly sized item i purchased soon afterwards.The item shipped from abroad and i was allowed to keep it when asked for a return so im grateful to the supplier for this.

The Lisle 61570 76mm 14-Flute End Cap Wrench End Cap Wrench is a perfect fit on a Ford / Motorcraft FL-910S filter. The quality is top notch and heavy duty. Looked at a few other brands locally and they either did not fit or were of questionable quality. I've attached a picture to confirm the fitment since there was some bad info posted in the reviews. It 100% is the correct size and fully engages the flutes of a FL-910S Filter. Perfect for a Bronco with the 2.3 or other Ford vehicle with the same size filter.

I bought this for Subaru oil filter but does not fit! Measurement of the 14 flute oil filter is 66.54mm using precision tools vernier caliper. Technically should fit on the 67mm side but guess what? It doesn't!! Already tried applying force but still wont. You might need a sledge hammer on this one if you really want to use it on your Subaru oil filters if you wanna look stupid!

I bought this tool to remove the oil filter housing from a 2003 Volvo XC70. The actual oil filter for the car is only accessible once the exterior housing is removed.In my opinion, it is almost impossible to remove the XC70 oil filter housing without a tool of this sort.The housing on my XC70 was over torqued. I tried several standard oil filter wrenches and pliers unsuccessfully. The fact that the oil filter housing on the XC70 is partially recessed into the engine block makes it very difficult to access it with hands or tools.This particular tool is well built, made of heavy gauge steel and correctly fits around the 16 sided housing. This tool is pushed over the exterior of the housing and a 1/2 inch socket drive is used to rotate the tool. My only criticism is that the tool fit somewhat loosely over the 1/2 inch socket drive, however it was able to rotated the tool securely. The tool allowed me to apply the necessary force to remove the housing and to re-install it after changing the oil filter. I can only wonder why Volvo and other manufacturers do not simply incorporate a square or hex nut on the bottom of the oil filter housing, to eliminate the requirement for an additional tool.

Bought it from "amazon.ca" with basic free shipping, I received it after 5 days, and with this price, I cannot complain.I was hesitant whether to buy this or one of the more expensive ones, I was glad i bought it because it did the job just fine.The build quality is very good and the fit on the filter housing is good, which needs only to be tightened back lightly. (better according to spec. if you have the repair manual)Highly recommended for DIY.

I was skeptical at first that this cap wrench would work, based on the reviews...However, work just fine on my BMW x5, with the 6 cylinder N55 engine (so it should work on other BMW's with the N55 and N54 engine as well). The cap was a little loose (not completely snug)...However, if you're concerned about it, wrap a thin piece of electric tape around the oil filter canister before placing this cap wrench on the filter canister. For me, I had an extra can of plastic-dip rubberized spray coating, and I gave the inside of the cap wrench a few sprays. When the rubber coating dried, the cap was a snug fit on the oil filter canister. Also, it looks like Lisle also reinforced the 3/8" wrench hole with a 6 spot welds, so this thing is pretty rock solid..Much cheaper than the BMW OEM cap wrench, and works basically the same.
